With all do respect. Why is Raton seriously banning ground audible items (firecrackers and chasers) this year? Firecrackers and chasers stay on the GROUND. With all the rain? We are not even in a drought. Doesn't make sense to me.

I realize they made the choice May 10th as I saw. Things can change so much between then and now. And they have. We've had rain.

Maybe the council should consider allowing firecrackers and chasers just July 1st through the 4th. Rather than June 20th-July 6th. It might be more of an ease for the ones that dislike the nose.

That's the truth. Here it is the middle of the night, not even the 4th of July yet, and some inconsiderate jerkoff is shooting firecrackers down the street. From the direction of the sound, I'd guess that they're two blocks or less from the police station.

Completely unenforced...

I like the public fireworks display as much as anyone. But what kind of lowbrow juvenile is entertained by firecrackers? Probably some fetal-alcohol inbred mope spent their welfare check at the fireworks stand...
