Every day I watch the police break petty traffic laws in non-emergency situations. I watch them break the speed limit, run intersections both marked and unmarked, park illegaly, and recently vandalizing the median in front of my apartment by driving accross it. Allowing the authorities to get away with breaking the law is the very definition of corruption.
An emergency situation is an entirely different story and is easily identified by the flashing lights on top of the police car.
I am withholding my name due to harrassment concerns, but I am at my wits end and don't know what else to do.

I hate it when I see a cop turn his lights on to get around cars at a traffic light and then when he's thru the intersection turn them off. As far as speeding goes, if a cop is ever in front of me and is speeding, I will be close behind. Never been pulled over for it and if I ever am I will argue and say he should have been setting an example by not speeding. hopefully it will work, probably will just piss him off.

Having been a police officer, I can offer up a possible explanation for what you think you see when they turn their light on then soon turn them off. Often times officers are dispatched to a fight or some other type of emergency call that requires them to turn on their lights and head towards the call. Other officers are also responding and often show up and cancel other units or get the situation under control and let other units know that they are no longer needed. Not making excuses, because there are always some bad apples in the bunch..........but most officers I've ever worked with are top notch and act appropriately, normal citizens don't always know the whole situation for the actions that they see.

i agree that sometimes citizens dont know the whole situation but when i see a cop pull up to a red light, slow down then turn on his lights and go through at three traffic lights in a row then pull into the mcdonalds drive through.. IM PISSED.

If you enforce the law you obey the law. If not, you are not fit for duty.

If your fellow officer was under fire, and has a chance of dying, wouldn't you speed up to help?

Un fortunately he had been to SA for a funeral and wanted to get back to work. I will paste that to my dash so I can use it as an excuse if I get stopped. Fat chance his excuse will work for anyone else. With a camera in every car these days, nonsense will likely be recorded. Just expect of yourself what you expect of the rest of us.

If if's and buts were candy and nuts, it would always be Christmas. He was on his way home from a funeral.

Daily Horoscope for December 7

Leo

If there have been slight tensions or frictions between you and a loved one recently, this is the perfect day to get them out into the open, thrash them out and then forget about them. Things could get quite heated in the process but don't worry because they'll work out all right in the end. Put as much energy into kissing and making up as you did in arguing!
