Sheriff Cox hasn’t done a good job; I think it’s time for a new sheriff in town. The crime rate has increased since he took over. LOYOLA wrote: Sheriff Cox has turned this county upside down in the wrong way, he has little concern about the people of Coles County and I think we need a new sheriff.

Your right about one thing, Coles county Illinois is the biggest drug meth production facilities in the State and crime is at an all time high there. It started to get that way about a few yours back and it’s gotten a hell of a lot worse since then. Most of these drugs manufacture work in sheriff coxs territory, so you can't blame town cops, they do a great job. I think that Coles county deputies rare trying but their hands are tied. Cox won’t listen to their ideas. He’s mule headed, so crime gets worse.

Why don't you back that claim with some "real" statistics?

Read the news paper once in awhile and talk to the people of Coles County then you will get your statistics. I am sorry you haven’t been taking the time to find out what's been going on in your county over the last two years. Ask any student, or young person how easy it is to get drugs around coles county. Cox has failed, he had his shot and failed, it's not my fault I am not the sheriff. Liar wrote: <quoted text> Your information is a total lie. I asked for some statistics to back up your claim, but you didn't give me any. All you gave was anecdotal information, which proves nothing. You might want to check the real numbers and not rely on sensationalism derived from newspaper accounts and town gossip. It's fine that you don't support Cox, but try to come up with some legitimate reasons, not phony claims and coffee shop tales. Your claims have no legitimacy, and won't unless you come up with some factual information to support your preposterous ideas. Care to try again?

Well if you don’t know that there is a major drug problem in Close County, then you have been out of touch with what’s going on for awhile. Sheriff Cox was given a chance to clean up Coles County and he could not do it. As far as statistical reports, I think the news paper has some pretty resourceful contacts and the good people of Coles County are not all gossipers, they have children and know what’s going on in Coles County. Sara bush Lincoln health center has had massive amounts of teenager’s check their self’s into the hospital because of drugs Cox could not get off the streets. Wake up to the fact that Cox has no education from a good university to even remotely know how to handle theses issues. We need someone who has been educated in criminal justice, or a closely related degree. These universities have top of the line techniques, equipment and tactics spending thousands of dollars on students who would be an excellent choice to become sheriff. Sheriff Cox has deputies who have college degrees and they have to baby sit him through the most elementary tactics of police procedures. There’s something not right about that. Cox might be a good fishing buddy, but he defiantly doesn’t have the education to combat crime and drugs successfully.
