All you tree hugging yuppie a$$holes really loss me off.You think we can live without coal and go on without these jobs...listen,I've been a miner for 17 yrs and damn proud of it.You think we go " green" and make a living at,I think you're misinformed.I've said this on another post and I'll repeat it,these small electric cars, where are they built, another country like Japan or Korea. They get them hear by cargo ship, which burns thousands of gallons of fuel not to mention the production of the vehicles, and btw,how do you think they make the steel in these "green" vehicles?Coal! You need coal to smelt the iron. And don't get me started on wind power...If you hate coal so much, call the power company, have them come disconnect you from the lines, hook you up a turbine or solar panel and lets see how long you last. And concerning the property that Cliffs got from the lease, did you see that place before?I think it looks better now!If you don't like coal, get over it...it's here to stay!

Let them stick the portal and bath house elsewhere. Obviously the people that lived there didn't have a problem being bought out & moving or they would have protested! The people that lived there didn't take care of the homes anyways, they were blessed to receive the oppritunity to start new .. if people were so worried about moving they would refuse to settle .. But no one has ..

Not to much would happen if such an expendible occupation (such as coal mining) ceased to exist. Times are changing for the better that we now almost have alternative sources of energy into place. And there is nothing communist about wanting to make the world a cleaner place to live in.

Only a real man can mine coal! What other half? There are a lot more people who work other occupations in WV than coal mining (ex. doctors, nurses, store cashiers/clerks, cops, security guards, teachers, and so on and so on and so on). And those who draw welfare, not too many of those are on drugs as people would like to believe because welfare isn't enough to support a drug habit. In Florida, they drug tested all welfare recipents and found that only 1.8% of those who were tested failed the test. I bet if you tested all coal miners in WV, the percentage would be much, much higher. As for coal miners being the only real men, if bad teeth, driving pick up trucks, not being able to speak complete sentences and bad shaving habits is what is takes to be a real man, then this country is in serious, serious trouble.

But no one has .. You are full of it!! I went up there when a lot of those people where packing there bags and a lot of them were very upset, even crying. And they did persist in moving and were threatened with arrest if they didn't have all there stuff moved out, and their out buildings and porches down down at a certain date. They even had security guards up there spying on them and one man up there was so disgruntled with moving, he actually fired guns shots at the security guards, and you say there was no protest, ROTFL!!! So what makes you the judge in saying that they didn't have a problem with it and that they are blessed? Hhhhmmmm almighty one? What makes you the jury in thinking that if they didn't take care of their homes, then they deserved to be evicted? But don't worry, because people like you will eventually get knocked off that high horse of yours and it will be people like me who will rejoice when that day comes.

But no one has .. I would dare say most of this was leased-land property. Those living on leases have very little rights If the lease expires and is not renewed, you will have to give up the use of the land upon which your home is built. Some surrender clauses stipulate that you also must surrender any improvements to the land (i.e., your condo, townhouse or house).

Alternate resources for energy are already about to be implemented. It's a lot closer than people think. The advantage is better environment. The disadvantage is the power bills will double or even triple. But hey, I'd rather have a cleaner environment. Just sayin.

Your rediculously stupid! & I wasn't judging them, I was stating my opinion & thoughts. I ride no high horse, smartass! My husband busts his ass in the coal mines to provide for my family! & as for the welfare people I know first hand, dumbass! Half of the people in Wyoming county who draw welfare use it for drugs! & you say, " not enough to support a drug habit " ? Hahaha, that's a joke! Evidently you haven't met the people around here. & also, I didn't say they DESERVED it! But chances are whatever's meant to happen will happen & it did so get over it! Yes, I have sympathy for those who didn't want to move but I heard personally from one of them that they were blessed to receive the oppritunity! So how bout you learn facts before running your mouth! You evidently have some issues you need to deal with .. Good luck with that ..

A better opportunity? For what? Most of the people being moved off their leases, without any kind of compensation, are retired. That's right-retired! One lady is an elderly widow of a retired working man! Her home must be almost 40 years old, lets see them move that! They cant, and she and the other elderly people having to move, wont be able to find any land near here, even if their homes were able to be moved. So now what? There is no big windfall of money, or any being given to these displaced homeowners, so please know what your talking about before you get on here and act like they have hit the jackpot and want this to happen. They don't and they have no idea as to where they are going to go. Looks like they are going to be homeless. But hey, who cares, because coal is king!
