Mingo Coach Passes Away We received a report Thursday morning that Mingo Central High School assistant football coach John Fry passed away due to complications arising from an emergency surgery overnight. heard wrote: <quoted text> they need to take care of the doctor I know the rumor mill is working overtime on this. Please remember when a person has surgery there can be complications. I don't think it's fair to blame the doctor just yet. Give it time, the truth will emerge. And the Newspapers print only half truths. The important thing is to remember the family, and obviously all of his friends and those he coached. I know this will be hard on his family and the team. I know some of the players and I'm sure this season will be dedicated to his memory. I hope they have a winning season.

Either way, if he had a prior colon tear and the doctors took his appendix out then that's malpractice. If they nicked his colon or intestine that's malpractice. The only way it wouldn't be considered malpractice is if the anastethsia was what killed him. Your supposed to have your bp checked every 5 mins for 12 hours post surgery. Whoever the Surgeon is should go ahead and lawyer up. Letting a 27 year old young man die after a surgery in 2012 should be considered malpractice within it's self...

John Fry was my cousin and a great person. He was a wonderful coach. I grew up with this guy. We were 1 year apart in age. We played basketball from sun up to sun down all summer long together growing up. He will be greatly missed and I can't believe this has happened to him. My heart is broken over this. There has not been a final cause of death as of yet or that I have heard. Just complications with recovering from surgery. He came out of the surgery just fine but passed away during recovery hours later. Please pray from my Aunt Barbara and John's new wife. He recently got married to the love of his life. So tragic.

I'd be slapping a medical malpractice suit on that hospital faster than they can say, "We're crappy doctors"!! They murdered that poor man, and even though no amount of money in the world will bring him back, hopefully it'll hinder them from killing someone else. The hospitals in this area shouldn't be in business. The doctors know nothing, and this proves it. My condolences to his friends, family, and those who looked up to him... and I hope the doctors get what they deserve for stealing him away from all those who loved and respected him.

I think if the doctor cut his colon while he was in surgery he should have been trained enough to realize what they had done and cauterize the wound with heat. Thats so sad to think that some probably foreign doctor who probably could care less about an american honestly. Sewed him up with a bleeding colon. I'll done told you people, and I'll say it again. They'll kill you in Williamson. How many have we heard of that has died over small things that would have never happened in places with 5 star medical facilities. America should make a law that if you wasn't born in the United States just like the President then you can't operate on American Citizens. He would have lived here in Knoxville. I had a foot of my colon removed and was up walking 3 days later. And out of the hospital in 6 days. God I hope you know you got a good one. I hope Fry stays in your ear and assist you in healing this nation. He can give you good tips on how to make this country what it used to be...

How about let the family deal with it and let them celebrate the man's life? None of you can even name the damn doctor nor even know what happened, but you're here on the Internet, sharpening pitchforks.

John Fry did not bleed to death, nor did he die doing surgery. He talked with everyone in the room and even on the phone with some. He was FINE! After surgery you shoulld be checked every 15 mins. for so many hours and then every 30 minutes after that. THIS DID NOT HAPPENED. COULDN'T EVEN FIND A NURSE WHEN HIS WIFE REALIZED HE HAD QUIT BREATHING And then when one was found, she walked down the hallway to his room. They tried to wake him up and then 15 minutes later, they called a code blue. So yeah,,,,,,,make your own conclusions on these FACTS!!!! It's not over....money makes no difference.....can't bring him back...we want justice!!!!

I know the family is hurting and nothing will bring him back or ease their pain but if a doctor or hospital was at fault then they should be punished. It may save another friend, family or neighbor.
