He needs to sue the pants off of someone - the accusers and/or the city. Hard to imagine his opponents weren't involved considering the timing.

Just another day in the stupidity and idiocy that is Mascotte.

Well, it's about time! Just when Mascotte was starting to get it's act together there had to be yet another scandal in city government. Now maybe the state attorney's office should look into the timing of the charges being made and Krull's arrest on the eve of the election.

The moral of this story: Don't let neighborhood kids into your house unsupervised. It will come down down to their word against yours.
He also had a responsibility to shield the children from pornography.

What are you, his girlfriend? He messed up letting kids in his house and paid the price. I'd like to see him try to sue the kids.

The entire thing was obviously a lie - and perfectly timed for his opponent. Yeah, you are right - nothing shady here. And yes, you can sue anyone for false accusations - it is known as slander. With the damage that was done, it is a pretty strong case.

Once again - another black eye for the clowns in Mascotte. They should order a new election - want to bet on the outcome?

I notice this link is under the "Local News" potion and not the major headlines portion of the the Sentinel's website. If I recall correctly, when this story came out, it was the biggest story of the day, and the man's face was posted on the front page. Help the guy clear his name by making it a bigger headline. Jerks!

I AGREE. Also want the people who originally commented on him being the scum of the earth to apologize. It just goes to show you people are guilty until proven innocent.

C'mon. You know the bad stuff makes headlines, apologies, retractions and "he really didn't do it"'s are little itty bitty blurbs buried on the back page.

Frankly, I'm surprised they reported him being innocent at all.

Mascotte is infamous as a speed trap -- particularly on SR50 where the speed limit drops from 55 to 30 and CR33 where it's 45. The Mayor unsuccessfully tried to put the lid on this; has anyone investigated whether the police union had a hand in the charges against Hizzoner???? He should Sue the Bastards, whoever they might be -- now.

The State Attorney's Office didn't say he was innocent, they said charges were dropped. A grown man who let's children hang around his house...Hmmm.

The Mascotte Police arrested him the day before the election. Had nothing to do with politics. He lost the mayor's race over this so the damage to him has already been done not to mention all the bad press he received.

Um, yea he was arrested by the Police Department he was technically in charge of the night before the election....hmm yea I smell somethin' fishy...If Mascotte truly wanted to investigate the incident they would've washed their hands of it and requested the Sheriff's Office or FDLE come in to conduct an independent investigation. Did that happen?--No.

Accuser's should be held accountable for the expenses occurred on both sides for accusations were found to be false. Hit them in the pockets and some of this type of slander will be stopped.

I concur, no matter what the man does or wherever he goes this will follow him for the rest of his life. There is no telling who was involved in this plot. It is sad the man's life is ruined. Granted, he brought some of this upon himself by allowing kids into his home. Perhaps he was just trying to befriend the kids. I would advise him to attain the services of a lawyer A.S.A.P. Lying is so prevalent in todays society from coke heads in high positions to kids who don't know any better.

My opinion also. I remember the large percentage of people commenting on the original story who were ready to railroad the guy.

What I find sad is that this guy is probably a throwback to a nicer era, when most neighborhoods had an old man or woman who actually LIKED kids and would invite them over. Nowadays, with so many kids running loose who lack parental training and supervision, it's just too dangerous to allow them to get too close...

It is scary that children today can cause the ruination of adults without proof. Anything they say is taken as truth! In the meantime - lives are ruined. We learn to learn from the Salem Witch Trials - and stop and think - before we REACT! This is scary....

True!!!
what kind of an idiot lets "teens" come in the house and use his computer?
that sounds a little suspicious.
If my significant other behaved such way I would be a little suspicious.
when a friend comes over and is hanging out for a while and they want to use your computer that's one thing, but for a man over 50 to have teens come over and use his computer? something strange about that!!!

What times are you talking about?
When I was a kid we did not hang out with adults. Sure, they might have talked to us, given us a cookie...
but surely, they did not ask me to come in their house and use their things, unless of course, their kid was my friend...
so I have no clue how you think this guy was being so altruistic. If he was so, then he would have bought these lower class kids their own computers, or given them jobs that allow them to have their own computers.
AFter all if the guy was running for Mayor he surely was not poor, or hurting for money.
It would have been a lot cheaper than $32,000 in lawyers.
Feeling rip off???
