I bet the church won't return the MONEY they received from PUBLIC funds though. Of course not, they need it for their molestation settlements! LMAO

One can be raised Catholic and still be clueless as to what being Catholic is all about. This character now has his 15 minutes of fame and thinks he's proved some kind of point. Expecting an apology is just too much. His supposed desire to show the Eucharist to a friend is bogus at best. Bring the friend to Mass, give the friend a book or some web sites to check out don't just take a host from Mass and put Jesus in a baggie. How demeaning to a central belief of Roman Catholics. No wonder some wanted force used to bring the Eucharist back.

That you are posting under "noncatholic" makes what you posted understandable. There are many sites that can enlighten you as to what Roman Catholics believe about the Eucharist and why we consider the Eucharist much more than "a piece of bread." It is not to change what you may believe but to help you understand what Roman Catholics believe.

I'm sure that some of the cracker was lost along its voyage on the HMS Ziploc. There's no way that Jesus made it back to the church with all of his digits.

I was serious. Are you saying that I should start writing comedy? I think these people who equate bread with a dead person's body are the real jokers here.

The real joke here is that someone would actually believe some god would have to kill his only son, the pure and innocent Jesus (or was it actually god killing himself??) as a means of protecting the rest of us from himself!

I have found it useless to attempt to enter into a debate with those like you who feel the need to capitalize words to make your ignorant points seem more effective. Your mind was made up a long time ago and and has been presented on other threads. If you've learned nothing yet I see no need to attempt to try to give you the same information you have clearly not attempted to understand elsewhere.

You were serious? No don't go into writting comedy. George Carlin was funny even when he did his stick on religion because he was not only funny but also knowedgeable about his subject matter and intellegent in his presentation of it. You have neither going for you as is obvious by your posts.

I can understand those who are ignorant about the Roman Catholic teachings and beliefs about the Eucharist. What I don't understand is why they feel the need to share their ignorance so readily and offend those of us who sincerely believe. How small minded.

But I have learned that it is much more benificial to learn how to think then it is to be told what to think by ancient foolish superstion. I guess you still need to learn that one. Hope I've helped.

Yes, Carlin was an extremely funny atheist comedian and I know I'm not even close to his level. However, you have read 2 posts from me and you have already judged my intelligence? Is that the amount of thought that you have given your religion as well? If so, then it makes sense that you would believe it.

It is a piece of bread before it is consecrated by the priest. Then through the miracle of transubstation it becomes the body of Christ. Taking the host from the Church was an abomination, but the bread having been consecrated, I don't believe that it was desecrated. The miracle having taken place the bread was no longer simply bread. It was the physical body of Christ. I can sympathize with those who were horrified by the event, but I don't believe desecration is the issue.

I mistyped the name of the miracle. The proper word is transubstantiation.

A "miracle" is impossible to verify. Faith is necessary to believe in a miracle, but it cannot validate one. It is up to the individual to decide what is a "miracle" and what is not, which could be anything one wants it to be.

"The miracle having taken place the bread was no longer simply bread. It was the physical body of Christ."

Then you are an admitted cannibal if you eat it? Congratulations!

P.S.- The stone age has been over for about 6,000 years. I think it's time to join the modern world, abandon your silly superstitions and educate yourself.

What I have learned is that it makes more sense to study the teachings of a faith tradition that dates back to the time of Christ and His apostles, accept those teachings and apply them to my life than to deal with those like you who post out of ignorance of this tradition and it's teachings.
