I would like to know where the old generating plant for the St. Joseph Light & Power Company was located in Maryville. There is a two story building northwest of the courthouse. Is this it?
My guess is that this "old" power plant was a small diesel plant. I am studying the histories of three early northwest Missouri utilities: Missouri Service Company (Stone & Webster), Missouri Public Service Company, and St. Joseph Light & Power Company. I want to know what kind of power plant was in Maryville during the 1940s and 1950s. |
