"A December poll by NBC News and the Wall Street Journal found 52 percent of Americans view illegal immigration as a threat to the nation. Only 39 percent believed it was beneficial."

Neither one of those figures are correct, The first one is too low and the second one is too high. It's closer to 67% to 22%, now I'm not saying those are the exact numbers but they're closer than what the poll cites.

"We're not recruiting the best and brightest of the world," Steve Harper said. "We're getting the brothers, mothers, fathers, sisters, cousins of somebody who managed to get a visa."

Oh, so true.

"Mary Schumaker, chairman of Centro de Ayuda in Annapolis, which offers humanitarian services to Latinos regardless of their legal status, said immigrants are being demonized in the election."

Not true, we just want the illegals gone.

"These are human beings," she said.1) "They're working their butts off. 2)They work harder than anybody. Harder than the gringos. Harder than the African-Americans. 3)They don't call in sick."

Let me respond to each one I numbered.
1)BULLSHITE! I've known lots of citizens working 2-3 jobs to make ends meet-You see citizens pay their taxes so that cuts into their take-home pay. We also have to pay our bills(medical bills and insurance are sky-rocketing because of illegals.) While illegals are getting paid under the table so no taxes are taken out, and those that have anchor babies are draining social services dry. Using the E.R. for minor illnesses and driving without either a drivers license and/or car insurance.
2)I've seen very few hard working illegals(maybe %5) and I've seen(and known that they were) quite a few illegals.
3)Kinda hard to call in sick when you don't have a regular job, now isn't it? How do you keep records of this when most of the time they're getting paid cash?

if they are illegal, there is only one thing that needs to be considered - DEPORTATION.

if they cannot come here legally, they have no business being here at all.

america must control the process of immigration, otherwise, you are saying that the criminals can come in too.

we already have over 300,000 incarcerated illegal aliens in our prisons, and the number is growing each year. WHY?

each prisoner costs us at least $25,000 dollars a year to support. again. WHY?

that's at least 10 BILLION dollars a year we spend to support people who shouldn't even be here in the first place. so, why are we supporting them?

the cost of the fence would be less than the amount of money we would spend to support these prisoners for ONE YEAR.

build the fence. then, deport all these incarcerated illegal aliens back to their countries and we will be saving AT LEAST 10 BILLION a year.

now, imagine how much we could save if we deport the other 20+ million illegals in within our borders?

I dear say. probably enough to BALANCE the annual deficit.

what are we waiting for???

build the fence and then deport.

It takes the average illegal about one week to get filed with all the appropriate govt giveaways. They learn quickly.
