That is so sad that a person has to kill a harmless animal. That was someone's pet and if they are like me I am very attached to my dog she is like one of my kids. So has anyone herd what they are going to do to him? I think he needs to be charged as if he killed a person. Just because you are drunk is NO excuse to kill If all I have herd is true which is probably true (was there) I would have knocked fire from MR NEWBYS ass no doubt about it. Someone needs to hang his sorry ass from a tree and torcher him. JS

I have herd the big dogs are on the case now and they out rank the Monroe County Sheriff Dept. So just maybe he will get what he deserves. The man that owned the dog is 75 years old and retired so not only was the dog his hunting buddy he was his companion. Another bad thing about all this is the dog was on his leash sitting by the mans leg when NEWBY shot the dog he could have easily shot the mans leg also and injured him. It's a crying shame this world is so full of mean and cruel people. JS

Frankie Newby is a sick individual, to do what he did is cold and inhuman he is sick! To tell a man to hold a dog still that is on a lease so that he can shoot him! All in the name of its my land, well the last I checked dogs can't read posted signs and his owner was retrieving him from the property. It makes me sick every time I think about it and I hope he is punished to the full extent of the law!(Now a felony for animal abuse) Now that the State Police are involved your buddy the sheriff of Monroe county Gary Henard can't sweep this under the carpet, he sat on this for too long, due to the good ole boy systems that seems to prevail in Monroe county! Justice needs to be severed for the inhumane treatment of the hunting dog and the terrorist threats to the men involved!

People like that should be banned from hunting, from carrying a firearm. He should be made to pay a big ass fine, with a considerable amount of jail time. He is plain and simple, sorry. He probably can't kill a deer, its got to be on a leash, for him to shoot it.

I know some really good folks in the Marvell, st. Charles ,holly grove area , I have worked in the area and coonhunted in the area and never not one time would I have been concerned about someone killing my hound , I want to believe that the people in Monroe co. Would help push the issue to be taken care of in a timely fashion , you know , just about every single coonhunter I now is a pretty good person and most are very respectful of other folks property, just all around good folk. Most everyone that reads this will have a dad or a grandpa or an uncle that used to coonhunt or bird hunt how would you feel if it was thier dog? To the man who had his dog shot in front of him I can truly say that must have been an awful experience . I truly hate it for you.

so sad that the people of this little town have nothing more to add to society than sit on your computer and gossip about things you know nothing about. Get a life and try to do something positive for your community and your families. Ye who is without sin cast the first stone, and think that would apply to all of you making nasty comments. what does that say about you, just sayin. Mind your own business. If you all are so worried about putting the spotlight on other people and their families that may mean you dont want to take a good look at your own.

Orrrr we can just send them here! So Amanda, you're his daughter! Surely if it were untrue you would set the record straight! But no, you didn't because its pretty accurate. Your dad's seem to me be a psycho, I mean come on!! Just shoot the dog that's with his owner, over the dog being a dog! Like the other person said, dog can't read! Doesn't know about trespassing and stuff, prolly didn't feel like a psycho was nearby ready to have psychotic moment!

The bad thing about the whole incident is the fact that I was a very nice hound. and really sad that the Monroe county sheriff doent want to do anything. Trust me I bet he can't fade the heat of what comes next. I promise this is not going away several attorneys are already taking the case. looks like prison is in someomes near future.
