Mr Feet, are you reading these threads? Shawn Paden was presented a debate help by two conservative preacher who "agreed to disagree" and then Shawn sided with both stating here that the remained in fellowship with their opposing doctrine. Shawn "agreed to disagree" as did the other two preachers. So, which of these three are "walking in the light?"

If you are saying "walking in the light" means getting every doctrine right 100% all of the time...I think you just damned everyone to hell, seeing not one person has it all figured out. If so, you guys would not have so many "fellowship problems" and sects.

You can paint the picture pretty as you wish, but we see through the paint and see the real picture.

Why are you so sure that you "have" Shawn and Johnny but you are so apprehensive about Arnold Murray and space alien Smyrna of the Shepherds Chapel? Is it that they possess more satanic power than Satan himself? Really curious.

"Walking in the light" is the same as "doing truth" according to (1John 1:6)

"Walking in Darkness" is the same as lying and not doing "THE TRUTH".(1John 1:7)

One must "do truth" to come to the Light.(John 3:21)

7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

The word of God said that I did not. In one case sins are forgiven. In the other sins are not forgiven.

Walking in the light = Doing the commands of the Lord (1John 3:7)(Ps.119:172).

7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous,

172 My tongue shall speak of thy word: for all thy commandments are righteousness.

The word of God says we can follow the commands of the Lord (John 15:14,21 ; 15:10,14).

10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love;...

Shawn Paden lied twice today, stating he has attempted to discuss the issues, when, in fact he did not. This may take several threads to show everything he ignored.

http://www.topix.com/forum/city/martinsville -...

In the above post Shawn never proved anything. He added baptism where it is clear not!

Were you baptized purposely in order to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit? Why make an issue of one promise and not the other?

"In the one account of rebaptism in the Scriptures, converts of Apollos were asked by Paul, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?" We are not told of any inquiry into the understood purpose of their prior baptisms (Acts 19:1-9)."

Also, Shawn didn't address this post: http://www.topix.com/forum/city/martinsville -...

Instead, he just pasted Acts 2:38 but never addressed the subject of the thread.

Shawn danced all around this issue: Were you baptized purposely in order to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit? Why make an issue of one promise and not the other? In the one account of rebaptism in the Scriptures, converts of Apollos were asked by Paul, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?" We are not told of any inquiry into the understood purpose of their prior baptisms (Acts 19:1-9).

He was ask about his brethren who disagree over doctrine and he sided with both views, knowing he has called others apostates for believing in the Indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

Here is the debate between two conservative Church of Christ preachers; Shawn sided with both:

http://www.oabs.org/Archives/Debates/bright-d ...

Heath wishes to deceive people. He knows that the Church of Christ are split over this; and some even dis-fellowship over this and some even call each other apostates. The following site is a debate between two Church of Christ leaders. Here are the Propositions:

Proposition #1

The Scriptures teach that the Holy Spirit personally dwells in the faithful Christian, and not just through the Word of God.

Proposition #2

The Scriptures teach that the Holy Spirit dwells in the faithful Christian only through the Word of God.

Above is the link; go check out both views then you will understand why Shawn is being so deceptive. Shawn and Johnny hold to Proposition #2

so, do you perfectly "walk in the light" NOPE!

Walking in the light is NOT perfect obedience. I bet Love has something to do with walking in the light. not an attitude of the Pharisees.

Again, you guys disagree on doctrine, so do tell us which are walking in the light??????????

Cant you even see the folly here?

You cant claim to walk in the light per your definition and be holding contrary doctrine.

This post just shows you do not understand the plan of God. The lesson of Simon becoming a Christian and then at some point afterwards desiring to have the gift of doing miracles proves God does not expect anyone to live their lives perfectly free from sin. That very same story also proves God expects each person to repent of sin (Acts 8:12-24)(Luke 13:3). For it is sin that separates man from God (Isa.59:1,2)(1Peter 3:12)

(1John 1:9) has been called the "second law of pardon" and is only for the child of God (such as Simon in Acts 8). Therefore we realize that no man today will live a perfect sinless life. But God has a rule (NT WILL) we must live by or we will not please our Lord (Phil.3:16-19)(1Thess.4:1-2).

1 Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more.
2 For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus.

AoG -"I bet Love has something to do with walking in the light. "

BF - you seem to be insinuating I have left love out of my post. Did you not read (John 14:15,21 ; 15:10,14)?

15 If ye love me, keep my commandments (John 14:15)

21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.(John 14:21)

10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love (Jn. 15:10)

14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.(Jn 15:14)

Jesus made it very clear as he equated loving Him with obeying His commands.

Those who do not obey His commands do not love Him.

Once again those are the words of our Lord, not mine. The message is very clear.

DOES THIS REFLECT BIBLICAL TEACHING?

In Aug 5, 2009 George Sodini, 48, of Scott Township, Pa. who opened fire on an exercise class of women in a Pittsburgh gym, killing three people and himself. He wrote in his blog just before committing the sin of murder: "I need to remain focused and absorbed COMPLETELY. Last time I tried this, in January, I chickened out. Lets see how this new approach works. Maybe soon, I will see God and Jesus. At least that is what I was told. Eternal life does NOT depend on works. If it did, we will all be in hell. Christ paid for EVERY sin, so how can I or you be judged BY GOD for a sin when the penalty was ALREADY paid. People judge but that does not matter. I was reading the Bible and The Integrity of God beginning yesterday, because soon I will see them."

Sam Morris, Baptist preacher in Stamford, TX wrote an article entitled, "Do A Christian's Sins Damn His Soul"? Here is a quote from the article: "We take the position that a Christian's sins do not damn his soul. The way a Christian lives, what he says, his character, his conduct, or his attitude toward other people have nothing whatever to do with the salvation of his souls...And all the sins he may commit from murder to idolatry will not make his soul in any more danger."

Bill Foster, Baptist preacher in Louisville KY made this comment: "If I killed my wife and mother and debauched a thousand women I couldn't go to hell--in fact, I couldn't go to hell if I wanted to."

thank you shawn
I debated abaptist and he said if he fornicated and died before repenting he would still go to heaven. said it on the air right here in front of the 2 states area!
These folks are angry at us because their terrible doctrines which cause them to fight and build buildings to keep them away from each is being exposed for what it is.
The doctrine of once saved always is no different than Jehovah's Witness doctrine. JWs say no hell Baptist say no way to go there.
Thanks for your help in this fight

You guys think you are going to take the heat from you and place it on Baptist and such – SORRY ! But that we aren’t here for that.

Since Shawn and BF are unable to explain the rules you guys uphold. You please give us the honor Johnnie and explain how Shawn can side with two Church of Christ preachers who teach opposing views about the role of the Holy Spirit. He even stated they remain is fellowship despite their contrary views. In other words, they agreed to disagree which is unity in diversity.

Please enlighten us on these rules. And explain how you guys can break them, but dare we not do the same.

Hey John in between sips of your coffee how about you finally address your false teaching in the area of Ezra 10, since there is no record of the Apostles quoting it or Jesus using it with the woman at the well how is it that you have been given the task of righting the ship and forcing people to return to previous spouses when it is not biblical in the New Testament to do so and in the old it is an abomination?

Was it your hatred of your father for leaving? Or are you just more informed then Jesus on the subject?

Shawn, you obviously are not reading the post thoroughly. I have repeatedly stated that nobody here advocates disobedience period !

Whet you are doing is attempting to twist things around by parroting the same comments as if we haven’t addressed them. The one here ignoring thread after thread is YOU.

You have yet to explain Ezra and you still have not explained how you can hold two doctrinal positions on the Holy’s Spirits role. You evade these constantly which only validate our point. You do not practice what you preach. You claim you guys speak the same things when we have seen you do not.

You guys are happy and content as long as you can point out other denominational flaws and doctrinal imperfections, but how dare we show you yours, right?

You hate tasting your own medicine don’t you?

You must rather being attacking than defending your inconsistencies.

YES! If you say this doctrine is TRUE then you advocate disobedience. So tell us IS ONCE SAVED, ALWAYS SAVED TRUE OR FALSE.
