Sorry, Shawn but it did work. I never stated nothing about music, you inferred this based on what?

I said songs only and you put music to it where I was silent.

God never changed his mind regarding music, thus we can read the word song in scripture and know music could be there too, just as you done with my statement

THANKS SHAWN! ;)

Just turn it on.

C'mon, you do better than this.

You are saying radio ONLY has music? I used the word SONG and you inferred something based upon something.

Many do the same when reading scripture. God approved of music and never condemned its use in the New Testament, thus we infer something based upon what he never condemned.

C'mon, you do better than this.

The early church was a hunted church, many of them being killed for what they believed, it would be foolish in that environment to draw attention to yourselves with instruments.

I often wander if the speaking to yourselves was not that, a quite speaking to keep the noise down and stay safe!

I have wondered the same thing. In my community several of us men are beginning a study on a book by Frank Viola titled "The Untold Story of the NT Church". It should be interesting, so I'm told.

That's your problem. You don't study the Bible. You study what others say about the Bible. That's the M. O. of denominations.

You and Nova use articles from your creedmasters more than the bible, so I say you are the pot calling the kettle black.

Check this out ya'll. Chris corrected (incorrectly on one part) WIL over on his blog

Chris Knight said ...(10:38 AM, November 09, 2009):

I could see that, Walkinginlove. But I also have to wonder about that, since at the time the Holy Spirit was something that had not come yet. It came later, after Christ's resurrection and ascension.

I *do* believe however that the Holy Spirit, like everything else associated with salvation, comes through the grace of God. And that is something that we can not possibly "earn" with our works... including baptism.

It amazes me how Robertson, Oldfield and the rest of their cult can inflict so much hurt on other people stemming from nothing other than their fixation on ONE verse of scripture and ignoring EVERYTHING else in the Bible that screams contrary to their twisted interpretation.

hey Chris ... what do you do with
Lu 9:1 ¶ Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.

what power would this be Chris, that they use to cast out demons?
Jesus is doing it by the power of the SPIRIT?
Mt 12:28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.

are they doing it in some other fashion? by some other power?

is Chris saying there is no HS before Act 2?

because of Joh 7:39

will WIL take this correction

are you juding WIL's understanding Chris?

WIL has the HS to guide him, can Chris correct the HS in WIL

wow

Does anyone else see the small problem with a man who cuts and pastes what others say about the bible more then anyone I have seen telling another they should study more about the Bible?!?

Perhaps Shawn you should try and post your own thoughts on the Bible to prove you actually read it and then you can start to help with the alleged pebbles of others!

Tell it to Steven!

Acts 6:7(Q)The word of God kept on spreading; and (R)the number of the disciples continued to increase greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests were becoming obedient to (S)the faith.

8And Stephen, full of grace and power, was performing great (T)wonders and signs among the people.

9But some men from what was called the Synagogue of the Freedmen, including both (U)Cyrenians and (V)Alexandrians, and some from (W)Cilicia and (X)Asia, rose up and argued with Stephen.

So were these men finding favor with Stephen?

Can a song still be a song with music?

I just returned from a kids singing event of friends of mine and the song director stated that the kids would be singing 4 songs. I could have swore I heard Shawn in the crowd demanding that they stop the music since she just stated they were going to sing 4 songs. lol

At each song she said "Now the kids will sing such and such" and I could just hear Shawn saying "wait a minute lady, you said they would be singing - you said nothing about that piano and other other instruments I hear and did I hear hand clapping too, dont you know when you said the kids would be singing that silence demands that they have nothing more" lol

Shawn if you cant see how silly your argument is, I cant help you. The kids seem to understand this as did everyone attending. No one protested that the music should stop because the director failed to say "the kids will be singing tonight along with several instruments"

Now, tell us Shawn. Can a song still be a song with music? Be honest.

Or must one explain each time that the song may have music. Come on, this is so easy.

Based on timelines thats online about 2 years or less, seems like a long time today, but then two years was no time as far as how much the message could have spread.

Thus they were challenged as soon as the Jews saw them as a threat to the Jewish traditions.

Heath,

So you are saying that bands like MercyMe, Casting Crowns, Jeremy Camp, etc. are all going to hell because they use instruments to worship and lift of the name of Jesus?

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Taurus

Someone isn't mucking about today, and if they're annoyed about something they'll come right out with it. This means you could be on the receiving end of some zingers, but equally it means that you'll be giving as good as you get. Now, although it will be very tempting to let off steam by giving someone an earful, aren't there better directions in which to channel your energy?
