Can anyone tell me if the Jefferson county school distric has a policy restricting the hiring of persons with felony arrest records,or if in fact they even do background checks for such things. Please I need facts only please no opinions or "I think so's" here. Thank you in advance for your help in this matter.

The Jefferson County schools website has a section on requirements but don't know how much detail in there. They do use the statewide specifics on some things though. Like, as a janitor or cook, there wasn't drug tests required to be hired. Same goes for the Department of Highways, no drug testing for employment. I guess they see it as these employees aren't working directly w the children. Sorry, I can't offer more specifics, I can only speak of the situations I'm familiar with.
