Who has the money to print a full-page ad in this newspaper? Do you? I don't. Mr. Kurshan is wasting the money I do have -- my taxpayer dollars -- to tie up this city with his false accusations and fishy motives.

He says he wants the recall on the November ballot. Surprise!! Both Ms. Gomes and Ms. Brown's terms are up a few months later, with Ms. Gomes being timed out for further service for two more years!

Mr. Kurshan and his supporters lack the understanding that the crisis this city and nation are in requires that every person wake up and be as productive as possible. He is using a democratic tool for his personal vendetta. Abusing the democratic process for personal issues is a key factor in our decline as a democracy.

To survive this crisis, we each must work to better the circumstances we are in. Sam Kurshan's "recall" is a frivolous, meaningless misuse of time, money, good will, and the democratic legal process.

Very well said. Sam Kurshan and his supporters are conducting this witch hunt because of a personal vendetta against Gomes and Brown. He cannot get over the fact that he lost TWICE in his bids to become a city council member and blames the easiest target he can. He does this because he has a extreme hatred for women that are strong minded. People know this because he is a convicted woman abuser (I don't care if a judge expunged your record, you did it). He has anger management issues and has even been ordered by a judge to attend anger management courses. He is slime IMHO. Of course you do realize that you will now be put on his VIB hit list and of course all his little minions and the voices in his mind will start to attack you here on Topix with multi aliases.

IF WE don't shake out the grifters, socialists and self-absorbed wannabe politicians from our city council then History will continue to repeat itself until there are NO businesses in Vallejo except "non-profits", churches, liquor stores and pot shops. WHO on Earth would want to raise their family in a town run by left-leaning social experimenters who have PROVEN by their own actions that they are interested only in their own personal goals and lives, to the detriment of the rest of US? Brown was fired from her State "job" as "senior planner" (pretty hard to get fired from any State job) and gomes has demonstrated time and again her hatred of our Police and ANY large business application here in Vallejo. At some point in the future Mare Island will begin to be recognized for the income-producing potential it has and WE must not let these two hacks get in the way AGAIN; Sorry Coleen, as far as the recall goes Vallejo has already "fallen", and if WE do not act now it may be years before it get's back on it's feet. Help OUR Town, our families and OUR future by removing these two angry women now.

the best part of the recall is that a majority of signers have no idea what goes on at internet comment sites. they will react to the promise of a better vallejo when these two hags are gone for good.
pot shops? tent cities? cronyism? blind eye towards code enforcement failures? hubby of gomes in hot water? plenty to inspire rage at these two.

no, actually there are several reasons. for starters, how about NOT A SINGLE economic initiative, other than scam "university village", "movie studios", or relying on marijuana tax money because "it's here to stay"?

You may not be aware of this but the United States and particularly California is going through a recession unseen since the Great Depression. California is broke, the housing market is a disaster and unemployment and underemployment is pervasive.

Economic initiatives are hard to come by at every level although the Feds try to throw money (your money) at the problem with little success.

But here you are, ready to castigate two "angry women".

The problems you talk about were caused by people like you and the people you supported for election. History has been repeating itself because of your prior council majority. In case you forgot wangy it takes a majority vote to get anything done and forth past twenty years, it's been your council majority that has brought us to where we are today. I fully expect you to put your money where your mouth is and look forward to seeing you on the street trying to collect signatures. You and Sam will make an amusing pair with your angry women talk. Don't forget that the majority of active voters in Vallejo are women and what you call left wingers. You and sam better wear your running shoes.

Using your lame reasoning - how about you name the many economic initiatives that the other Council members brought forth?

I recall Osby doing nothing while Wilson and Hannigan got elected JUST to try and further their own political careers. The others (can't even remember their names)... which tells you enough about them right there.

Gomes famously told the police union "we are coming for you in 2012". But somebody fuhked up at 555 and Gomes' city hall watchdog pals missed the contract provision as well, hiding in plain sight.
