Full story: Nuvo Newsweekly

If you have ever been to any Rez. you'll see that THE PEOPLE are not being treated like americans. I grew up in saint louis mo. and the innercity culture has it much better than any Indain I'm related to. The inner city folk keep squirting out kids so they can get more government assitance. But on the rez they are fighting not only the gov. but often times they are also fighting corruption on the tribal council. I really feel that we as a people MUST stick together to fight the injustice that has plagued our people since 1492! David Ironbear Beck

I am not able to claim my Indian heritage but i have lived on the pine ridge rez and now live near the salamanca rez in ny and all i see is the government treating the Indians like dirt or worse and i am sick of it. The government put up the rez for the indians and now i wish they would hold up their end of the treaties that they started. As for corruption in the tribal council I have seen it also years ago. The indians are the real Americans and yes it would be nice for them to stick togater as they had in bygone days and fight the injustices cause to them by the white trespassers.

I won't to begin saying that, the goverment is wrong in what they done there at wounded knee, I think the way that they were treated there and still being treated is very wrong. I have read the story of wounded knee and i cried the whole way through it. I have some indian in me, my great great Grandmother was full blooded Cherokee and though i never had the chance to meet her I love her for what she stood for. She was not an NAVTIVE AMERICAN, she was an INDIAN. I am very pround of my heritage, and i won't ever for get that. May the spirit of mother earth keep you well.

Daily Horoscope for January 5

Virgo

You aren't fooling anyone - it's easy for everyone else to see that inexperienced people are unaware of their obligations, Virgo. You're grumpy about starting a familiar process from the beginning again, but don't let that get in the way of getting on with it. Sour grapes have no place in your daily dealings. Although you may 'own' a project, it's ultimately in the hands of someone else. Deal with it and then move on.
