Reconstruction plans for BPL in the works

Plans to rebuild the Big Pines Lodge are progressing, but officials are still working on a timetable to begin reconstructing the famous restaurant, General Manager Kay Carter said Thursday afternoon.

I am very excited that Big Pines Lodge will be rebuilt. I was introduced to the finest catfish in East Texas by Mr. George Wilkins, 97 years young. He has been going to the restaurant since it first opened. Once he introduced me to the fine eatery, I took my husband and boss. We have all been mourning the loss of the finest hush puppies, coleslaw and catfish in all the world! Please rebuild quickly so the rest of our family & friends can enjoy the scrumptious, delectable delights of the Big Pines Lodge.

Do you know of an approximate date?
We will definitely go there again... I frequented Big Pines most of my life. We had family reunion dinners, friends night outs & well... any other excuse we could find to scarf those hush puppies & catfish! Loved the COLD BEER too!
We can hardly wait!

It won't be for some time....
All of the Caddo Lake area is under water,
drove down to Big Pines ~water was in the parking lot but has receeded some,but NOW we are having moreeeeee rain so more flooding expected..CAN'T get into Dorough road...You have to go all the way to Uncertain and cut across..Johnsons Ranch completly under water.

	Tell me when this thread is updated!
