Vitale, Morgan & The Board Brothers

I have lived in the City of Paris my whole life. I, like many others know of the dangerous criminal element that has existed in my hometown for many years. If you are a native of Paris then you know who and what they are.
I have recently finished Lt. Michael Callahan’s book “Too Politically Sensitive”. I applaud Lt. Callahan for having the having the courage to expose the people and things that have brought fear and terror to the city of Paris. Even before the murders of Dyke and Karen, there was the stigma of fear in our city.
I hope every citizen will read this book and see that the many rumors are true. Paris is no doubt a town controlled by a heinous Sicilian mobster. Joe Vitale established his own little family/crew years ago in Paris. Anyone who know anything about Paris Knows, Bob Morgan takes his orders from Vitale. Morgan, through his business washes all the mob and drug money. When Morgan came to Paris he was little more than a white collar con at best. However, with Vitale’s blessing and the money laundering, he has become a wealthy and powerful man.
Then they have there personal “Death Squad”. Duke and Jerry Board, along with other Sons of Silence bikers, are nothing more than cold blooded killers. The Board’s have murdered, trafficked narcotics, intimidated, and brought fear to the people of Paris for many years. All the while answering to Don Vitale and Bob Morgan.
Anyone who knows anything about Paris, knows about the Bon-Ton coffee club. Just like a scene from the Sopranos the Bon-Ton was this groups Sattrieals. Over morning coffee the family/crew would receive their orders for the day coming down from Don Vitale. On a side note, I seem to remember seeing Darrell Herrington sitting with Bob Morgan on more than one occasion in the Bon-Ton.
After reading Lt. Callahan’s book, I have no doubt who was behind the murder of Dyke and Karen. Bob Morgan and the Boards are cold blooded killers. Lt. Callahan’s book only reinforced what many of us in Paris already know, there are a string of killing that lead to Bob Morgan and the Boards. These are no doubt evil men.
A couple of years ago I was spending the weekend in Springfield visiting a friend from high school. While out that day my friend said “I’ll show you something pretty fucked up”. My friend drove me to and fairly well-to-do neighborhood. While in this neighborhood we drone past a very nice home, easily a $ 200,000 to $ 250,000 dollar home. My friend said “Guess who live there”. I said, how the hell should I know. My friend told me it was the home of Vic and Debbie Reinbolt. I wonder where the money came from for such a beautiful home.
Maybe one day we the people of Paris and Edgar County will have the guts to stand up to and rid ourselves of these cold blooded murdering criminals. Until that time Paris remains a dark and evil place.

But I have heard all this also. I couldn’t help but notice you forgot to mention how those people have their little grease monkey running the sheriffs office now. How in the world could we elect a motorhead idiot sheriff not once but twice. Ya think he had mob or morgan money backing him?

Why does everyone want to jump all over Duke and Jerry. They are nothing but good men. Just because they hang with some motorcycle guys does not make them killers. They are both pretty good dude just get to know them.

I am reading the book to. Does anybody know who the edgar county deputy was that was tied up on the railroad tracks. Also, when was this. I guess I never knew about this murder and did the board brothers have anything to do with it.

Deputy George Redmon. He was a part time deputy who lived in Chrisman. Interesting fact is Bob Morgan was selling fertilizer for a Chrisman fertilizer company at the time. Redmond's car was found hidden about 1/2 mile from the fertilizer plant. His body parts were found stuck to train in Ohio. His car and the surrounding crime scene was totally contaminated by the time investigator's arrived to process it. One deputy was even seen lying on the hood of the car. We suspected motorcycle gang at time, but had no evidence to prove it.

Is there any murders or wrong doing in Edagr County that Bob Morgan isn't involved in, whats the deal.

I lived in Paris for a long time and it seems that each generation had a ruler behind the scene. Years ago it was Art Reese. Marriages and alliances were created and new money started to gain power. Not to be out done, Attorney's got in the mix. Those who failed at practicing law became judges or politicians. Our judicial system became corrupt and those with money and power bought their way out of trouble, while the lowly minions paid the fines and served the jail time. Those of us in law enforcement saw the favortism first hand.
Morgan passed a polygraph test that indicates he had no part in the murders of Dyke and Karen. There is no physical evidence linking him to the crime. Without that or a confession from the killers this case will remain unsolved unless reopened by the state. DNA evidence is one area that should be looked at, if their clothes are still in the posession of the state police.

Its hard for me to have any faith in a polygraph test, given what I know. While I did not grow-up in Paris, I spent alot of time there with family. Through my teens I would hang-out with my cousins at the lake and cruise town during the summer. I always heard stories about the bad shit and bad people in Paris. When I got older we would hang at the Station and the 2:30 Club. A friend of my cousin's pointed out Duke Board to me once and said " that guy is a murdering SOB. Over the years I listened to alot of what I consider good honest people, tell the same story about the Rhoads murders. After reading the book it only confirmed those stories in my mind. I am sure that there were and still are, some honest cops, like Car 106, in Paris & Edgar County. However, will it ever be possible to bring-down Morgan,Joe Vitale, and the Board Bros.

Who is the Sheriff now ? When I was growing up in edgar county it was Carl Fahrnam. After I left I lost track of everything, until Callahans book got me interested. Also is the current sheriff controlled by criminals, or is he one of them.

Tim Crippes is the sherriff now...yep thats right...the greese monkey who always seemed to have a lot of "out of jail druggies" working as his mechanics.

I had to laugh when I was reading Callahan's book and he described when they were going to arrest the Board brothers. Tim said, "You can't arrest the Boards. I have to live in this town"... wow...that is a gutsy sheriff there. Now fast forward a few years when Paris Police were called to the Board's house. A family dog lunged at one office and the officer shot the dog with his service weapon. The Board guy calls up Tim Crippes to come over. Wow... he had Crippes on speed dial....makes you wonder what is up with that....

I was driving by the police station the other day, down the alley by the First Federal bank... and I saw Jerry Board going into the back entrance of Joe's pizza. Doesn't that seem odd that he would be going in the back?

Hey...it goes way back farther. Why don't everybody just quit buying pizza and putting money in the Edgar County Banks? You might look to the south for another one to add to the list...like closer to Marshall.

well i think all paris cops or investigators are messed up it te damn head they all need to be locked up all of them witlock and the other guy had nothing to do with it so.

This topic is a bit more complex than mere residents or Callahan can grip. I predict that much more will hit the air, however, the lone investigator who Callahan now portrays as corrupt is up to his ass in alligaors....lawsuits, and cannot speak out on what is supposed to be a confidential criminal investigation. Think about it, working on this double homicide for over six years now, getting sued for doing his job by one of the suspects who the investigator still considers a suspect...along with others, and now this galant saviour named Callahan comes along and portrays the investigator falsely to the WORLD as a dirty cop. Boy, I'll bet that guy has a huge bar bill. Maybe he is going to the same doctor that Callahan went to when he had the breakdown and was put on the medicine he talks about in his civil trial. Ladies and Gentlemen, stay alert and quit thinking that all is right, it is not. Can't say it ever will be.

Ex-Parisite: Are you really throwing Forsythe under the bus? I do not mean to sounds naive, but that is bold considering rumors such as those that have plagued Mr. Morgan have never been mentioned about Forsythe. Furthermore, should Reinbolts be living in a huge home in Springfield, give the address. Then we can hit the public records to determine who purchased it...

This person from the south has never been a person of interest concerning any type of criminal enterprise. Another person referred to may have played a small part in something of a larger nature way back when but information shows he took a spanking like a man and returned to society and became an extremely productive person who is a very family oriented type man. I like sausage and mushroom. What Paris needs to realize is there is much hype and rumor mongoring among a very small population of stupid people. I find the majority of Paris to be similar to everywhere else I frequent.

A few months prior to the fire I made a drug arrest on the grandson of one of the members of the police board. In his possession was a book with a list of names and dollar amounts along with the drugs. My report and the book were taken to the states attorney for review. The charges were reduced and he paid a fine and walked. The book was last seen in the possession of the states attorney. His name along with a judge and several other prominent people were among those listed in the book. I was told to forget the incident or face loosing my job. I resigned shortly prior to the fire and left the area. Honesty is not a virtue admired in this city.

How can you, in goodfaith, defend joe vitale. Very productive ? production of narcotics maybe. Very family oriented ? Mafia family oriented perhaps. Get real, attitudes like your is why paris is the way it is.
