I'd tell you to go back to Africa, but you would be like a fish out of water if you did. I will settle for you staying on your side of the street though.

Makin bacon wrote: <quoted text> Mike, I should have made myself clear. I was referring to the part of the post where TSF was talking about under educated, and under skilled workforce. There are still plenty of people in their 40's, 50's and 60's that perform the jobs I mentioned without a high school diploma and make a pretty good salary. I'm not saying don't get an education, but these people aren't children of a lesser god because didn't complete high school. They're working, keeping up their families and paying their taxes. I don't have a problem with funding for tech school or any skilled or nonskilled labor. BTW, you people whine all the time about no money being spent on education and I'm speaking at the college level. My daughter has a couple of friends that have been the recepients of enough college funding that could be on the "Lifestyle of the Rich (forget famous), and you know what they do with their tuition funding; they're band groupies. It funds them following bands from the U.S. to eastsouth Jesus. Dang big pack of them too. On the other hand we have Seven (I know we bust his chops), but the kid's working, keeping a roof over his head and going to school, hey give him some help, I don't mind. My daughter has another friend that decided to go back to school because she didn't complete her degree, she works two jobs and goes to school fulltime with very little funding. If Seven and my daughter's friend can do this, what's wrong with other college kids doing this? If people can't work a job and go to school when they're young, and full of energy, they won't be worth a plug nickel to any employer when they get in the job market. You do not have a problem funding tech training? Great, one day if you ever tell a republican congressman to do that, we can have some progress. Until then, your republican party is not doing as you wish on this front. They are the party of no. No funding for any advanced education. They do not really even want to fund elementary education. And as always, you see a couple of examples of abuse of the system and that is all you talk about. That is all the republican representatives hear from you guys. So they just cut, cut, and cut funding to education. I have no doubt your perception of the kids you speak of spending all their tuition money on being groupies is flawed, as all of your stories are. But I am sure there is some abuse, but that is life in the big city.

TSF wrote: I met several volunteers who loaded up their tools, trucks and supplies and headed to N.O. to help,--for free. They were stopped, turned around and sent back to NC by Blackwater agents and La guardsmen. The government didn't want any free help. It interferes with no bid contracting and kickbacks to corrupt government officials.. The poor and distressed saw very little of the huge sums of government money that poured into La faster than the flood waters.. Prime example of republicans running the government. <quoted text> If you could bottle and sell your stupidity, you would become rich beyond your wildest dreams.

Many people escape the ghettos everyday, the ones who don't are either to lazy or have grown accustom to relying on the govt. As Herman Cain has proved many times, it's the democrats who have succeeded in keeping the poor on the proverbial plantation thru entitlements/handouts while ensuring guaranteed votes. You can't help someone who doesn't want to help themselves first. So by your twisted logic, they deserve to die because they are poor? You have openly admitted you discriminate upon certain peoples. Now you claim they all have fair chance at success. How can one have fair chance if he is being discriminated upon? Not everyone can get a loan from their parents to start their own business, as Mitt suggested. Mitt is out of touch, and clearly so are you.

Twisting ones words again. I don't recall mentioning they deserved to die, more liberal spin. I never claimed they have a fair chance either. A chance, yes, but a fair chance....life isn't fair! I don't think Mitt is out of touch, I think society is out of touch. Society has been taught thru govt schools, by mostly liberal teachers, guided by the govt and the teachers unions, that debt is a good thing and when one consumes enough debt, they become dependent upon the govt...just as they want it. A path that leads to socialism.
