There is a frightening amount of lead contamination finding its way into the water and the surrounding area. There have been a few cases of neurological disorders already documented in nearby residents.

Dan Marion, IL	Reply » \| Report Abuse \| Judge it! \| #5 Jul 16, 2012 They drained it because they were hoping to test the sediment and use it for the road construction going on on HWY 13. Apparently after it was drained, some group stepped in and has said they can't dig it out for some reason. Haven't heard anything since.

Also heard there may be a wetland issue with the DNR. State of Illinois paid for the draining.

You're right Dan! And before they refill it they should do their homework about a fountain and aeration system. DNR will stock it.
