Ormond police investigate WELE radio deals

I hope the Police investigate Wele, Doug Wihite and His family. I am one of the ones that filed a complaint with the Police. I feel these people need to be put in jail for what they have done to the people in this area. It is wide spread, the money people have been scamed out of, no one will ever know some people do not speak up. Just the people I have been in contact with is a very large sum of money.

You must be a family member, or go to his church. If you have the time just go visit Seniors vs Crime in the Sunshine Mall in Daytona Beach, let them show you the files they have, and the money people have lost, and it was before Hometown News came out. I returned a package because of all the extra fees the day I bought it back in May, and have been unable to get a refund. I followed the refund policy, and yet Doug and his family were very rude to me. I could not get through on the phone, or by e-mail. They charged more to my credit then what it was to be, and yet after six months I still have not got a refund. Just go to SENIORS VS CRIME PEOPLE HAVE LOST, SCAMMED OUT OF THOSANDS OF DOLLARS.

The Wilhites are criminals in my book. Just in the small business in which I work, they have scammed thousands of dollars from the workers who thought they were getting a good deal. The deals were good up until about a year ago, but now it is nothing but a criminal enterprise. Send them all to jail!!!

I guess we've been lucky. This year we've been to the Bahamas for 4 nites for $300, including airfare; and we recently returned from a 5 star resort on the beach in Puerto Vallarta, 7 nites for $300. So far, WELE has delivered what they promised.

We did not have good luck with WELE. They promised so much with the travel packages we purchased from them, but we were never able to use anything that we paid for. They are not very honest people. How can they be allowed to continue to lie to people on the airwaves?

i will be added to the long list of abused customers! i have spent over $700 on these vacation packages and have not even been able to get them to answer my calls or my emails! if anyone would like to join me in a suit please contact me. i have an attorny already. i will be reading the posts. i have given them so many chance's to make good and to no avail. the last contact i had with them, the man that answered the phone asked me to please be patient, and i will get my money back...he told me a whole sob story about the owner (doug) having money problems. guess what---i dont care about his money problems. i paid for things i never received and they have no intention on ever fulfilling the packages!

I was very upset to have lost money with WELE. No matter when I called I could never get through to anyone-just voice-mail. I left my name and number several times but no one would ever return the call.

Great deals if you follow the rules. Have been refunded twice when got more complicated than I preferred. The 2 others I simply walked into the resort was given room number and keys, no money exchanged of any kind. This is not the kind of travel where you pick up the phone and make your reservations. You must go by the directions to get the deals. I listened to the callers and most were repeats and all were thrilled to get the deals. They also knew what questions to ask before purchasing the travel. BUT you have to be willing and able to travel on the designated dates.

Does anyone know if there is a class action suit going against WELE 1380 radio shopping show,that buyers can join?

I'm not a family member or an employee. I've had years and years of successful purchases, and nothing but the best treatment from the Wilhite folks. They have provided many special travel deals that have allowed my family to travel to great destinations. We may not have been able to go on these trips without their services.
I've been reading the negative re-postings and have come to the conclusion that some people just dont pay attention to the details, and then they get upset at the station. Learn to take responsibility, and grow up!

I guess you have been very lucky or a very close friend of the Wilhites. Most (probably 75-80%) of us are VERY DISTURBED and upset that this community cannot understand the damage the Wilhite Family have caused with their criminal behaviors of scamming not only working people, but the senior group as a whole. They owe me many trips, rebates and flights which were NOT DELIVERED and communications have been VERY BAD to say the best! Sorry, they get an F on my report card!

Wouldn't it be NICE if Doug and his family would TAKE THE RESPONSIBILITY of REFUNDING what THEY OWE TO US!!!

This has been going on for some time now and more people need to contact the District of Attorneys Office as well as the Dept. of Agriculture, both of which can be reached via the internet or calling the DA's office. I've waited many months to receive communications, etc. They need to be advised and demanded to react before they finally do!

I agree, and they need to be reported to the District of Attorney's Office as well as the Dept. of Agriculture. Many complaints will definitely help.

RESPONSIBILITY needs to be taken on the part of WELE as well, even more-so as they are a public business serving their community. They DONOT refund many whom they owe, they DONOT communicate unless pressured, they are very IMPOLITE when cutting off those asking serious questions even when trying to get informed and they (WELE)do not tell the truth often when PROMISING that there are no other fees, etc. The last part has gotten a bit better, but most of it is SAME OLD SAME OLD.>.since 1999??? Remember that problem -- still goes on and on.....???

Oh looky here, people who have a personal problem with this family that owns WELE is once again keeping thier ever loving grudge alive. How nice for them.

Move on. Find a hobby. Something.

The day I walked into that office 5 years ago, for an interview was the day I walked out...I felt the Word "SCAM" years ago and it attracts SCAM artists that sell that awful station even now. Who is that idiot KP pull the plug on him too
