These officers will get of the hook! Watch and see! I've yet seen a case were the police are held libel for a un-justified murder!

Neo, if you had a family member in the force and he felt threatened, put in this situation, woulnd't you justify the shooting. You would, you know why? Because they are still with you. Yes, officers are always putting their life on the line and if they see a slow moving car with the dorr open especially in the wood, and you are hearing gun shots, wouldn't you expect the police to do their job?

I guess the police can go ahead and shot anybody then whenever they feel threatened since that's doing their job. How in the world can you truly try to justify what they did? Yeah being a police officer is scary and dangerous which is why the go to training and psych evaluations to see if they can handle it. It appears these guys jumped the gun and let their nerves get the better of them.

Maybe then...we won't have scum on our streets. Or drug dealers or gang bangers. Obviously.. we have been trying to do things the right way and it isn't working at all. Everyday...these losers our back out on the street. I am glad we have one less on the street. If they were trying to take off when the cops came...they must have been up to no good.

Reality Check

Take a few minutes to think about the circumstances that were reported.
"two officers on patrol together heard gunfire coming from a parking lot by a hamburger stand. As they approached the scene, they saw a man running, then get into the back of a slowly moving car.
As the officers pulled into the parking lot, the car was driving toward them and they believed gunfire was coming from it"
What would YOU do IF you perceive a shooting in progress (murder???) and then believe the suspects are now coming at you and are shooting at YOU?
Like it or not, Officers have to act based upon what they know and perceive.(how else can ANYONE do it?)
This is an unfortunate and sad situation for all involved. My heart goes out to the families of the kids and the officers.
P.S. If you can do it better, get an application. Just about every police department has openings and is looking to hire some good people to become police officers. Let's see how you handle it when you are in the middle of it all, with no time to second guess your own actions, or the actions of others.
Everytime a police officer contacts someone, it could end up in a life or death situation. Officers have a responsibility to not get themselves hurt or killed, while protecting their community.
Let the investigation take it's course.

Unless you've ever been on scene when shots are being fired, you really can't say what you would / would not do! My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the deceased and to the police officer's who sacrificed their lives and now have to deal w/ all of these BS comments.... How about giving these men the benefit of the doubt! They've been properly trained and acted on there training!

This police shooting really sadden me. Following police shooting, I often think if I were in the victim’s shoes what I would have done different to avoid being killed by the police. Simple, stop and comply with the police orders.
Having a burger at 1:40 a.m. is not a crime, and nobody should die for having a burger that early in the morning. I’ve worked night shift and stopped at various burger places to have a burger and coffee either while on my lunch break or on my way home. Everything being the same, this tragedy could have happened at any 24-hour eatery like Denny’s, IHOP, or gas station.
Everyone stop and think for a minute. Place yourself at any burger place; time of day does not matter. All of a sudden you here shots being fired in close proximity. Your first instinct is flee the area, especially if you don’t know where the shots are coming from. In this case, the car waited for the passenger to get into the car before attempting to leave the scene. Unfortunalty the victims were leaving the scene at the same time the police was arriving, and the police felt they were endangered by the fleeing vehicle and shot at the car. Strange, from the brief clip I saw on TV, I did not see any bullet hose in the victim’s windshield – what I would expect if the victim’s car were oncoming.
Question, what does the dash camera in the police car show?, Next question, everything being the same, what would you have done different (keep in mind you are doing something routine, shopping, pumping gas…)? Everything being the same, put the police officers in the same situation as the victims (without weapons), what would they have done if they have family/friends in the car?
As a father with children, this disturbs me, because under the circumstances, I would be trying to get away from the danger, and seeking safety for my children.
Please help me, everything being the same what should I do to avoid being shot at by the police?

sick of torrance police dept. think they can kill anyone instead of helping them. just like the 24 year old man from torrance that was shot and killed at his parents trailer. rodney sandberg was a father and a husband to someone. he has left alot of people who cares and miss him dearly. the police dept. needs to stop killing and help these pepole.
