Malone Honors Past Champions

I read today that Malone boys basketball has won 13 state titles. How is it possible that a small school like Malone has 13 state titiles and Marianna has only been able to win one?

One possibility is Malone has had great talent in the past. Another is Marianna is or was a 4 A school playing bigger schools than Malone.

Could be because Malone is more of a farming community than Marianna so our boys have more fertilizer under their feet.

Since the 80's we have not had our best athletes to participate in basketball. What else is there to do in Malone anyway!!!!!

Why not work at honoring the present sometime??? Make some changes Linda Hall!

The 13 titles has been a thorn in the side of many that reside in the center of the universe known to the rest of the county as Marianna. If money did not control the FHSSA there would probably be 15 or 16 by now. Move these heavily recruited private schools players into Marianna's classification and how they like it!

I personally know for a fact that Linda Hall wants what is best for the students and teachers at Malone School. If you do your job there, she will give you the respect you deserve. If you don't do your job or you go around bad mouthing the school and the administrators, then you get what you deserve! I wouldn't be afraid to say that Linda Hall is one of the best administrators in the county!

As for honoring 14 state championships....why not? It's something to be proud of.

There have been 13 boys and 1 girls state championship, that makes 14.

Let's get back to the original post. 14 state championships ! Numerous final-four and state runner-up distinctions.It was such a source of pride to see these men all the way from 1952, including my dad, joining the younger generations of men and ladies. My family roots are strong here and I am so proud to be carrying on the tradition with my children.

So, in closing for those of you who don't like the school or its administrations, LEAVE. Don't air your dirty laundry like an immature child. This is not the place.

as for why Malone has not done so well lately in the basketball arena, I feel that they do not have the caliber of young men playing or the type of tough coaches it takes to lead a team to the state tourn.
As for Mrs. Hall I do not think she needs to pat people on the back all the time. But I feel that she should recognize that her pets are not the ones who are doing their best for the school.

some of the people she puts her trust in do not even know how to do their job.
also there are people that are smart and willing to lend her a hand but it seems as if she does consider everyone idiots and if it isn't her idea
no way is she going to consider it.

Conversations do evolve and change as people add to it, sometimes bringing the truth out to the light hurts, and apparently people do have opinions that differ from yours. Yes, it is great that Malone has at one time been great in basketball, and it is not to minimize that, but some want to share that it isn't all great at Malone currently. If you really look in to it, you too may see the truth in what some are sharing.

Negativity breeds more negativity. Maybe the one complaining should consider that administrators don't include him/her in decisions due to constant negative comments and attitude.

As tiger proud said, "If you're not happy at Malone, LEAVE!"
