I would like to thank the City of Coconut Creek Parks & Recreational Department for devising an 8 week Physical Education for local home schoolers. Often such programs are very expensive and many families are unable to partake in these as a result. The City of Coconut Creek however offered us a viable alternative. Mr Daniel Washburn headed the 2 session program (depending on age of the kids), and introduced a new sport each week. He taught them rules of each game and split them into teams and played a game. Not only did they have an opportunity to get exercise but it allowed them to learn about each sport. The kids had such a terrific time. Us moms were very happy about that! Sadly, next week will wrap up the program until next year due to other community sports obligations. They have discussed offering alternative programs at the Center to the home school community in the future. I just wanted to say how thankful we are to Mr Washburn and the Coconut Creek (North)Recreational Center for working with the home schooled families and offering us the opportunity to to give our kids added activities to their daily studies where they may not otherwise have had.
Warm Regards Mrs Deborah Wack |

After reading about Winston Park Cleaners being voted as the best in my area, I decided to take my wife's dress and my suit, long sleeve shirt & tie to this place on Dec 28 2007. The first thing my wife asked the woman behind the counter was if they can finish the job by thursday Jan 3, for us to use in Miami on friday night.
Jan 3, Called them up and was told that the job will be done the following day. jan3 9am, 11am, 1pm: 2pm - not done yet: I was getting so worried that my blood pressure must have doubled!! I called them again and said that my wife will hit the roof when she finds out. Finally, 3pm got $31.65 job home. opened it up and noticed my missing shirt! Called them up again and got all kinds of excuses. Did not get the shirt back until today Jan 7.and was told that people make mistakes. I retorted that the job shouldn't have been accepted if they couldn't deliver on time. My wife also noticed that her dress looked like it was not cleaned at all plus it smell like a dirty dress would. She was so upset that she decided to wear a different dress. I am sending a copy of this email as well to www.bbb.com Vambi Tolentino 1921 NW 35th Terrace Coconut Creek, FL 33066 |

Correction please:
Picked up the clothes from the WORST Cleaner - Winston Park Dry Cleaners on Jan 4, 3pm instead of Jan 3. After so many phone calls & one of the most stressful experience I have had. |

In reference to the article of FCAT scores in the Margate/Coconut Creek Schools and Coconut Creek High School "F" rating. What about the students that have no choices and have to attend there and are high achievers ... just because the "11 graders" get an "F FCAT" everyone else in that school suffers with lack of funds and achievers not even being able to get scholarships because of the school FCAT rating. What happened to standard achievement tests that were given at the beginning of every year since 8th grade to identify those based oon their abilities and then put them in the 3-R classes according to their abilities instead of keeping everyone behind. 80% of the students that go there don't even live in Coconut Creek which has been the complaint of surrounding neighborhoods for years ... but denying them funds for "F" in the FCATS will never get the school out of the "F" status - maybe the school board should reconsider how funds are distributed eg A-$85, B-$75, C-$65, D and F -$50 and getting rid of the administrators even ridiculous - an administrator cannot motivate a student that doesn't want to be motivated and goes to a home where the parents don't care ... it is a no win situation for everyone, the students, the teachers and the administrators ...
