Bullies at Intermediate

My kid came home stating that this little 5th grader was pushed off the slide and probally broke his ankle. Parents talk to your child, ask questions, do they get bullied. What is the staff doing about this ?? I'll be keeping a close eye on this. If this had ben my kid I would be all over the staff for not having better watch dogs out there in the playyard. This kid is being bullied for jut having a scar/birthmark on his forehead. Poor kid my heart goes out to him. Parents talk to yur kids. These 3 boys responsible should be plac ed in ISS the rest of the year since I hear its not the first incident.

You know, there's bullying going on around everywhere these days. I'm not saying to deal with it, but schools have gotten so scared of parents and media nowadays that when it comes to discipline within the school system, we are so limited in how to handle certain situations. I think kids now are so out of control because of their home lives, that it's the kids that are running the schools now. Teachers and admin can't do shyt to these kids anymore. So whatever incidences are happening, they will continue to happen until some parents end up getting fed up with it all and start homeschooling their children or go to private schools.

Well sorry to hear about what happened. It's unfortunate for this kid. But this is called life. This is where parents show him the right steps in addressing this issue, 1. The bully 2. The teacher 3. Principal 4. Then you become involved. I don't think teachers appreciate be known as "watch dogs." The genuinely care for our kids but in the same note. There are probably about 20 per teacher and they can't watch them all. I agree with you that they need to be more observant and these kids defintely need to get disciplined. Not only by the school, but their parents need to show them about respect for one another. Something that has been disappeared from everyday society.

Yes, I agree, but apparently the said mother went and told them her concerns, and still no improvement! And this was not the first time or incident!? So, what is going on?

So if they addressed the school, and no discipline was enforced. Then you got the Main Office, and talk to the Superintendent. You just have to keep on climbing the chain of command until something is done.

1. There Parents Fight Alot
2. There Parents Might be divorced
3. There Mom Or Dad Might Be A Acholic

Just shoot the bully. He'll only grow worse over time; better to deal with it now and send a message than when it's too late.

I may have been out of line there; I apologize. Perhaps the parents of the bully should consider some counseling? Maybe anger management therapy? It certainly would do him good to have closure on any unresolved issue that would cause him to lash out at others. If this continues to be a problem he will only get himself into trouble and cannot add his uniqueness to our world.:)

yeahhhh,st*pid you were out of line..by saying to shoot this kid,what about if it was your kid being the bully?You sure as hell would not like it if another parent would say to shoot him..think before you post this kind of stuff on here,our kids probally read all this stuff and can get crazy ideas.What we ALL as parents should do, go to the school and find out for ourselves what is really going on..instead of making a topic about it!!

There is a law against bullying I saw it on the walls at school.
A parent has to take a firm stand and ask the Principals. What
are you going to do about keeping my child safe. Maybe the parents
should say I am calling the law next. Only I don't know how affective Pearsall's law is.
Teachers see this the constant hitting by one particular kid.
But there is very little that is done to them.certainly teachers
hands are tied when it comes to how they can discipline the kid.

I can't believe you said shoot the kid. And you think the kid needs Anger management?what the bully did is punishable by a fine. What you did is punishable by prison time . Not to mention you're a total IDIOT!!!!!

Remember these kids are small kids. Why wouldn't the mom go and complain? If the bullies are tough little kids and she knows her kids are not like that then of course you are gonna have a mom there complaining. Overprotective yes for my kids always. That is why they have me. And try pushing me off the slide I don't care just don't mess with my kids. I love my kids. Sorry that the bully's mom doesn't love her kids. They are a waste a lost cause. Not my kids, they will be somebody someday. I plan on it.

I did apologize. Let's try this: perhaps he should recieve a stern "talking-to" from his parents to correct his behavior. Again, I apologize.

Or maybe some little rich kid that thinks they are better than everyone else, because their parents think so to. These are probably the same people that had corporal punishment taken out of the schools.Bullies aren't limited to any particular class or race of people. They can also be spoiled brats.

It sounds to me that you are the type of person that has a bully of a son/daughter/grandson/grandaug hter and can't admit that they should be punished. Your kid does no wrong....the teachers are always out to get him/her. I know of some 3rd grade and 4th grade kids that are bullies and everytime they get caught,the grandparent puts up a fight about the child being picked on first. Even after they know full well that their child is at fault. Never thinking about the other child who just got hurt. I do believe that children who bully other people do it to release built up anger from seeing the parents fight,divorce in the family, and even having their other parent absent from their lives. Get your kids some help and quit babying them. They will turn out to think its okay to hit other people when they get older and you will not be able to protect them from the system. You are the example they learn from and you need to act on it now.
