Hope the department does not continue rabbit hunting. Will the city publish the cost of the repairs from the past episode.

Well since the city does not control this operation it will probably work well and not be under funded. This sad city does not even have a good or for that fact use the little bit of air support they do have, because of miss management and lack of funding.(the good ole boy system here killed their air fleet and drove away many good people) This city always has the mentality of the feds will do it for us so we can short change the citizens on something that is crucial to law enforcement in this day an age. I can think of no city of comparable size that is this unequipped, can't wait to leave.

Leave then! No loss, it's negative people like you that bring this wonderful city down! Some of us do like it here and take things at face value. I am happy here, good riddence! |

What is the real truth why EPPD uses their two copters only for special circumstances? Is it because the EPPD really does not have the qualified personnel to fly them. I lived in El Paso 64-70 and 73-82. I visit frequently. I will be brutally candid I think it is the uneducated mexican cops they hire. These EPPD cops are some of the most illiterate in the nation. Have you ever seen them in action on TV "COPS"? Shameful. Some of the anglos they employ are, well simply put, stupid. Their elevators do not go to the top floor. The EPPD would really have to improve to be more pathetic.

I have a way to use the force, catch criminals, and not cost too much money...just park the copter on the County Courthouse Helipad. That way the crooked judge and some commissioners can get nabbed quicker.

They know "whom" to call? No. They know who to call. Get it right. You're a newspaper for crying out loud.

Not particularly a supporter but on the rope. Traveling the country from North to South and from shore to shore this is not true. It is only skin color your looking at. El Paso does have its police that go over board. Overall they are among the best. Sgt. Ramirez of recent fame is one who needs to retire. Maybe it was a bad day for him. I am still waiting for the results of the infighting a few years ago among the top brass. |

So when they can't find their way to Dunkin Donuts the eye in the sky will help them.

Great, the pigs have flown.

Lets pat DPS on the back for assisting EPPD and EPSO who feel that DPS shouldn't be in the city.

I love El Paso. I love the people, UTEP sports, high school sports, cruising Dyer, Montana, Lee Trevino, Paisano, Alameda etc. I love the border food served in many of its restaurants. Hamburger Inn especially. I love parking on Trans Mountain Road and staring down at the glittering lights. I love going to the all night bars in Juarez. I love the spanish lanquage. I loved the Jockey Lounge and Mr Soule's "The Tap Lounge". When they were there. The people of El Paso rock. Sadly, when it comes to their supposebly finest, meaning the EPPD, life takes a dangerous turn. Such an inept police force. I even went to high school with a few dummies at Irvin that made the force. If you only knew how incapable these cios are. I shudder to think these days. The EPPD is going to do it the way they always have--the super dumbass way. It is what they know. The mistakes we make as citizens is trying to figure out why. Have you ever seen your EPPD patrol officers in action. Pathetic. Very unprofessional. They hide behind their badges while they mumble in broken english their intentions. This is the USA not Mexico Mr. policeman....I understand alot of people don't speakee the english that well....regardless Mr. policeman english first than espanol. I see this because I am around alot of bars and clubs when I visit. The EPPD hide their sanity disquised by their badge. Not all the EPPD cops are that way though. Many know the law and their job and uphold the laws. It is just the 75% that don't. Yeah 75%. Go figure. Again, have a nice day. |
