Man arrested for sexual abuse of teenaged girl

I was personally coached by this man only a couple years ago, it's a horrible thing what has happened. You would have never thought.

I had trusted this man to coach me, and had played for him. I would have never though he would do such a thing like this.

I wondered why he seemed to have changed jobs so frequently.Google him and see. As a parent who trusted him to coach all of our young daughters, I am sickened by all of the allegations. All we can do now is be thankful he is no longer able to come in contact with any of them ever again.

Being a great guy is one thing but when you are talking about a coach with four felony charges for sexual conduct with children he is coaching, don't blame the children for being flirtatious. A coach or a teacher or a bus driver cannot cross that line. If he decides to be a coach, he has to at the same time decide not to be on the prowl for dates. Once you cross that line you cannot go back. You cannot put the ketchup back in the bottle. Once the children become flirtatious with him, I guess that is the time he actually loses their respect. He has to be above that or he cannot coach. Sadly, this appears to be a growing story and I am sure there is more to come. It is important for us all to believe in romance, but when someone is supposed to be forming our youth, they cannot be predators at the same time. Lets wake up.

My daughter played for Todd in college. There was always rumours about his releationship with younger girls. I know he coached a young high school team in the area and the parents also new of his past behavior. They never left their daughters alone with him. Yes, he might be a great coach to younger players but as a college coach he wasn't at all a motivator. He was actually the opposite. He used inappropriate languate, yelled at the girls frequently and told them how awful they were after the game.

Recent activity includes a trip to California with the team over Thanksgiving vacation. Most of the parents did not accompany Todd and his team. As this story unfolds, there will probably be endless details of Todd's wild summer of love.

There truly is nothing shocking about this news. I heard it through the grapevine, and I immediately knew it wasn't a joke.
There is something a little suspicious about a man who shaves all of his body hair for no reason... maybe to look younger?
If this man is innocent, I'll eat my hockey stick.

NV coach faces rape, child porn charges
Cell phone photos show many teen girls involved
A field hockey coach already facing felony rape charges was accused Friday in federal court of photographing himself and an underage girl with his cellular telephone camera while the two engaged in sexual conduct.Todd J. Broxmeyer, 37, of Lisle, was charged Friday with production and possession of child pornography. A conviction on the production charge alone carries a mandatory minimum prison sentence of 15 years, said Assistant U.S. Attorney Miroslav Lovric.
Investigators recovered the images of Broxmeyer and a 17-year-old girl having sex from Broxmeyer's cellular telephone, along with numerous images of other as-yet unidentified young females in various stages of undress and in sexually suggestive poses, according to a felony complaint filed Friday in U.S. District Court in Binghamton.

Many of the young women have not yet been identified, FBI Agent James T. Lyons Jr. said in the felony complaint. Broxmeyer, who is single, coached girls' field hockey teams in the Binghamton and Cherry Hill, N.J., areas. He's been living in the Southern Tier for more than two years, Lovric said.Broxmeyer operated a private enterprise, Model Hockey Academy, which organized leagues and travel teams. Broxmeyer is also the founder of the Southern Tier Field Hockey Academy and a former coach of Wilkes University's field hockey team, his Web site indicates.Investigators have spoken to four alleged victims, three of whom told police they resisted sexual contact with Broxmeyer, but Broxmeyer forced them to have sex with him, court documents allege.
So far, Broome County Sheriff's Office investigators have filed three state counts of felony first-degree rape and one felony count of sex abuse against Broxmeyer in connection with incidents involving three teenagers he coached, said Broome County Sheriff's Sgt. Jason Ellis. A conviction on the rape charge in New York carries a mandatory five-to-25-year sentence.
A 15-year-old girl coached by Broxmeyer came forward a week ago and told Broome County Sheriff's Office investigators that she'd been raped by Broxmeyer on Dec. 1, court documents allege. The documents said the teenager went to police Dec. 22 after learning that Broxmeyer allegedly had had forcible sex Dec. 21 with a 17-year-old field hockey player at an indoor sports complex in the Town of Union. The 17-year-old had sought hospital treatment afterward, court documents allege.
Sheriff's investigators spoke to the 17-year-old and her mother at the hospital Dec. 21 and later talked to a second 15-year-old girl who said she'd also had sex with Broxmeyer Dec. 1 in his Lisle apartment, court documents said.
In an interview with detectives, Broxmeyer admitted tickling one of the teens and wrestling with the girls “all the time.” He also admitted the teens had been to his apartment and that he exchanged pictures and text messages with the teens, but he denied having any sexual contact with the girls, court documents allege.
Investigators have since identified a fourth alleged victim, age 17, also from the Southern Tier. A fifth potential victim is from the Allentown, Pa., area, where Broxmeyer also coached field hockey, investigators said. All five girls have been coached by Broxmeyer, court records say.
Meanwhile, the Newark Valley Central School District sent a letter to parents and staff Thursday informing them that Broxmeyer had served as a volunteer coach with the district's field hockey teams in the fall of 2007 and made presentations at some team practice clinics during the 2006-07 school year.The district was “shocked” to learn of Broxmeyer's arrest, the letter from Superintendent Mary Ellen Grant said.Although “volunteers” do not need to have fingerprint clearance from the state Education Department, Newark Valley requires all volunteer coaches to have fingerprint clearance before they can begin volunteering as a coach, Grant said.Broxmeyer's qualifications were checked, she said. In the fall when his information was checked, he was a certified New York state physical education teacher and his fingerprint clearance was verified, Grant added.

Former N.J. Coach Facing Rape, Child Porn Charges
CHERRY HILL, N.J.(CBS 3) ― A former field hockey coach from South Jersey and founder of Model Hockey Academy in Medford is facing rape and child pornography charges.
According to authorities, Todd J. Broxmeyer, 37, of Lisle, N.Y., was arrested in New York in December after allegedly having sex with a 17-year-old girl.
Broxmeyer allegedly photographed the sexual encounter with the unidentified teen and kept the images on a cell phone. Authorities said the phone also contained images of other unclothed young females.
According to authorities, Broxmeyer, a former member of the U.S. National Hockey Team, was also accused of raping two 15-year-old girls and sexually assaulting another teen. Authorities said the alleged victims were players coached by Broxmeyer.
Broxmeyer, a field hockey coach in the Binghamton area, moved to N.Y. from the Cherry Hill area two years ago.
"It totally blows me away. This was somebody who was in our facility," said Brian Kosa of Cherry Hill Health & Racquet Club.
Kosa rented indoor practice space to Broxmeyer in 2005 and 2006.
"I have a daughter who is 17 and it just creeps me out," Kosa said.
Broxmeyer is facing three counts of rape, one count of sex abuse and has been charged with production and possession of child pornography.

BELIEVE IT PEOPLE! Safety Dance is right...I think more will unfold about his "summer of love". His live-in girlfriend was out of the country for the entire summer and I am sure he took advantage of having HER apartment all to himself! This was a long-time coming! Those that don't believe it - would you believe it if it was one of your daughters...you do the victims no justice by denying their accusations - in fact you victimize them again.

It's time for the girls who played for him at Wilkes University from 2003-2005, as well as all those girls in Jersey that played for him with the Model Hockey Academy to say someting if you know something! What happened is horrible. Good for all the girls who are coming forward, despite how difficult and painful it must be. I saw him tickle (creepy tickles!) and wrestle with a couple of the girls he coached. He'd do it right in front of their parents sometimes, and right inside their homes which we were invited to. I thought I was the only one that thought it was strange...guess not! This man took young girls to play tournaments in California at least a couple of times over the past few years...who knows how many years abuse like this has been happening! Sadly, I won't be surprised if the victim tally is well into the double digits when all is said and done. When asked about his deep involvement with his young players, i.e. constant calls and text messages, and his seemingly flirtatious behavior, what was his defensive response?? "That's my coaching style". HA!! Last I checked, pedophilia and rape are not acceptable coaching styles. Anonymous is right...this was a long-time coming.

Years ago my daughter played for Todd. As a parent I thought his coaching style was inappropriate and pulled my daughter out of his program. I never ever left her alone with him during the time that she played for him... I can see now that a mothers intuition is always right!!!!

I have been following this story since his arrest, and I knew it would continue to grow...people like this don't do this sort of thing once - I hope he never sees the light of day.
Did I read that righ? He has a live-in-girlfriend and she didn't suspect anything???? The reports I read said some of the rapes happened at their apartment. Let me guess, she is probably visiting him in jail right now.

I am nothing short of sickened about this entire situation. I thought I knew this person also and am angry that I allowed someone of his mentality come in contact with players I have coached. I am sure I am not the only one who has been conned by this low-life.
Now every male coach involved in female sports will be under the spotlight due to sick bastards like this. Coaches are empowered with the well-being of all their players, to be the coach, the guidance consular and to teach them about humanity, safety and life-skills. Again, I am sickened that someone would abuse this position for their own gain and I am sad for all of the people associated with this horrible crime.

my daughter and are so glad something always came upwhen she wassupose to start being coached by todd .call it devine intyervention and maybe mothers int. but we never make it to them and i'am so glad .we all need to be thankful for the straight of the 17y that came forward and i'am proud of her she may have saved alot off young ladies the same fate!now we can only hope justice is done !

Yes, he is horrible, But I knew his girl friend. She was a nice person, and she was my friend. Now she is facing the repurcussions of his actions. She is unemployable as a teacher, and her reputation is destroyed.I really hope she wins her case against the school. Although I can't imagine what she saw in him, This just shows how one persons mistakes can ruin an innocent person's life.
