That's a big "IF" Fed Up American. Why don't you get off your butt & do something constructive? No, 2nd thought, if you got off your butt & headed this way, you would only "add" to the destruction ~ ah ~ never mind, have another beer.

i think all bad people in this world should be shot in the head.
EYE 4 and EYE.
the government should just start allowing and producing our countries pot and keep those shady bastards with guns out of it.
and as for all the other drugs besides all hallucinogens, suck they are worthless and a waist of money. And all those Mexicans should appreciate and except that if they come here illegally they are ruining the very thing they came here for. that’s not to all Mexicans I live in Arizona and I see the toll, there are the good ones.

Why is it Pot's illegal & alcohol is not? The majority of crimes committed are while drunk. The only crimes committed while stoned are driving too slow; or the very act of the herbal substance in possession. Yes, it slows mental capability - especially with long term use, however, it's not as lethal to one's health as most Scripts or Alcohol. If a person cannot handle reality; let 'em smoke their weed. More problems have been created as you mentioned: the Cartels - follow the money.

Another pathetic comment from you I see. No wonder why every one gets pissed at you .Pot is not a friendly drug that does no harm when comes to 100LBS people do all kinds of stupid shit to get it from here to there even kill people .Pot can become very violent when it turns into to big money. This is why the user is a problem the user creates the monster it is . Even if it is legal it will create a new type of DUI.

Legalizing it would take it out of the criminal market; however, you do have a good point in terms of a new DUI type.

Guys,

This junk is being legalized in many states as a medicine.

It's basically just an excuse to let people get high.

They have these pot-smoking-joints (no pun intended) where people can walk in with their kids. The kids get to play a little while as the parents go into the back and get high.

After they get high, then they can safely drive off with their kids (while still in a semi-high state). Does that not make sense or what?

This is as silly as having bars where people go drink, then are allowed to drive home for many miles. It'll be just another way to give lots of DUIs.

People will get caught under the influence forever.

I still think that legalizing this junk takes the criminal element away. There are way too many people in prison for possession of drugs or stuff like that. At $40,000/year/prisoner, we could use less drug dealers/users in prison.

We could also do good with the high taxes collected off of these drugs (alcohol and tobacco come to mind).

Prohibition of anything only breeds a need for people to do illegal things. Once these illegal things are made legal and readily available, the luster of doing something illegal is gone. It may not be so fun anymore because it's legal. A big part of why people do drugs is 'cause there is a thrill for doing things illegal.

Then again, some people just like losing control of their senses.

Sadly, I agree. I didn't know about the smoke joints; what you've described is child endangerment. Broken people breaking their children - prisons ran by gangs & greed; this is a system failure that eventually is going to infect/affect those who currently are unexposed to it all. Tragic.

And you are such a positive soul. Such a good contributor to the blogs.

We read your posts and think, "this is what I want to be like when I'm dead".

What's up with all the negativity? What does it buy you? Does it make you feel good to go negative on everything?

My guess is that there is some bit of intelligence behind the blogger called "Just a local". Is there truly intelligence? Are you capable of providing constructive input? Do you know what that means?

I'd challenge you just to see what's in that brain. Do you have the potential to provide valuable input or is it all dumb, dumb, dumb?

I've never claimed I could fix the world - what I have claimed is I'm committed to finding the seed of truth within accusations & news stories; especially when they revolve around my hometown or people I care about.
This story for example; it's been going on as far back as I can remember. What's amazing - is it continues as news; it's old. We're bright enough to find solutions, enough people must be motivated - thus; propositions & voting. Money has become a deterent in the betterment of our American Society; this is a crime we all have to pay for - each and every one of us.
