Nope - but I'm not bytching in the news, threatening to strike, and degrading the work done by everyone else just to pad my own pockets, now am I? Oh, and add onto that the cute little slogan, "it's not about the money."
Case proved just now by you: It's about the money.
I work in a "service" industry and will tell you right now that if these nurses strike, they better not be around me wearing their ugly little nurse uniforms... who knows what might happen to their:??? Unless, of course, they tip really well. But it's not about the money.
With me, it's all about customer care.
I see that its about customer care. Threatening people that might or might not have provoked you just because of their dress. How do you know that person in scrubs is not a Doctor? And the pretty little nurse outfits with the neat little hat have gone away replaced by something that is a little less costly. It's a good thing that this state is seen as Minnesota nice, or should I say not so Nice. And by the way I work in the financial industry. The only thing I know about the Healthcare system is how to audit them.

The only problem with your argument is that over half the electricians, and carpenters have been out of work for the past three years with little hope of finding work till we get ride of the libs in office.
my guy, a union plumber, has worked two plumbing jobs in the last year, both out of state(only the first one was set up by the union) and is currently working in a Northwestern state doing something completely different. He's kind of on the union's hit list because he complained that the union guys aren't in the office on Fridays(one out of four is supposed to be there) to take calls for jobs starting on Mondays. RETALIATION is a union game.

And your point is...???

Oh, you audit healthcare companies. WOW

My ridiculous "threat" to nurses is the same "threat" they are giving to John Q Public. Pay us what we're demanding or... ELSE

I find it hard that with all the money in medical care nurses can;t get a fair crack. The medical industry in this country is broken - so much waste, no incentive for the morality of medicine.
If we were in a true free market, Doctors would not have lobbying powers through the AMA and nurses would not require unions. The fact is, the nurses union is doing what the AMA does for doctors..

The fact is the doctors fight for government to stay out of health care and let them make decisions while the nurses just want a bigger paycheck and for government to be their solution to all.

Just to be clear: You want to be viewed as the proffesionals that you are, yet you feel that you have a right to give members of your own proffesion no respect. So far I have read on here that healthcare in the south is substandard, and that as a temporary nurse working the strike I am a criminal, a "shady" nurse, and will give substandard care to patients. First of all, you would not have the luxury of striking with the impression of caring about your patients if there were not nurses who would come in and care for them while you make your point.(Some of which I agree with 100%, some not at all) Second, I am coming from a magnet hospital. I must have gotten a fairly good education because I am CCRN certified. The hospital that I work in is ranked in multiple areas every year as one of the best in the country in US NEWS AND WORLD REPORTS to name just some of the honors that our services and proffesionals are awarded. I am not a criminal, or a "shady", substandard nurse. I am qualified to float to multiple areas and give quality care to critically ill patients. I will do so and yes make some extra money to help pay my children's college tuition while you stand up for what you believe in. Someone has to care for the patients, and I am not really sure why undermining the competency of other RNs helps your cause. Would you prefer that your patients that you care for and are standing up for have no caretakers while you make your point?
woo-hoo! Way to go!!!

Home School...there we go weirdo alert...now i see the real issues. Regular schools are not good enough and she cannot "be a yes man". Sounds like either a pain in tha **** hippy or a free spirited long haired weirdo that just can't adjust to society. Grow a set guy...
My thoughts exactly!! People who home school their kids are wacked!! They can not function in the "real world"! Which is why she can't get a job as a nurse. Wonder if mommy and daddy will hold their hand in college and through their adult life?

What is "wacked" is that parents willingly send their kids to someone else to teach them their views, without ever questioning the curriculum or the teachers qualifications/values. Do you think that just because someone is a teacher they can do a better job of programing your kid?

We do send our kids to public, but we also suppliment and refute teachers when necessary.

This does not matter if you are a resident of Minnesota. You worked in this state, there are laws to protect you.

The Minnesota Attorney General wants to hear from you if HealthSource Global didn't pay you for working in Minnesota:
www.ag.state.mn.us/ElectronicForms/ComplaintF...

Also there are provisions in state law which says you must be paid within 24 hours as a former employee. If you have made such a demand under state law, the Dept of Labor & Industry wants you to make a complaint with their agency so they can recover your wages:

If you do not work for the company, please make a demand that your wages be paid within 24 hours. If wages are not paid in that time period, please call us to file a wage claim.

If you are still an employee of the business, then the business must pay wages by July 11, 2010, according to Minnesota Statutes 181.101. If not paid by that date, please call us to file a wage claim.

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Taurus

Get involved in financial transactions at your peril under today's Lunar Eclipse, because certain people will use them as a stick to beat you with. For instance, if you ask someone to lend you money they'll either make you feel guilty about it or dredge up all sorts of past instances when their trust was betrayed. You would also be well advised to avoid any show of possessiveness or jealousy, even if you feel it, unless you truly don't care about the disastrous outcome.
