I knew it was coming. People are ratting folks out to get out of the Fed time. When they plead these people out they will rat on somebody else.

This is fantastic. I knew Maple had bad apples all along. I hope this bleeds into all the unnecessary construction going on in Maple Heights.
I remember years ago when Frank Artino fought hard and heavy against citizens who didn't want yet another Dollar store in their neighborhood. The store was to be built next to the Marathon on Granger where that employee got killed last year. It cost Artino his Council seat, but for whatever reason, he felt it was worth it. I knew back then there was something going on, and something had to be worth Artino losing a job that pays a pretty good salary for only being part-time in the evenings. I also remember the rest of the Council members sticking up for Artino. WTF was that about? Perhaps if this investigation goes into the current and former Council, we will all find out. Ever since Lansky took office, the only thing he's done is projects related to construction which makes me wonder what all these city inspections of homes is really all about in the first place. |

That's what I'm hoping for. The more attention we get from the FBI, the more answers we will get for the stupidity of our city officials.

I believe that will come out. The new schools and all that other crap was due to kickbacks. Also, Maple Heights loved to spend money on lawyers, they will probably get to the bottom of that also. A lot of people are getting ulcers and sleepless nights right now. |

Yeah, they demand we get a new driveway put in, whether we can afford it or not, and if we can't afford it, we get something like $100 a day fine and then jail time. But if you're in the Maple Hts administration, and you need a new driveway......for one thing, you CAN afford to have a state of the art driveway put in but why do that if you can get a free one by getting the contractor jobs here.

What about all the money that was taken from the school let alone the citizen who voted for that new tax level for the new schools to be built. I feel that whole entire school board need to be cleaned up and start election of new school officials and a knew superintendent because he should have had some knowledeg of what was taking place.

Agreed. I remember reading the Garfield Maple Sun where it stated the school board agreed to prevailing wage to non-union workers of the project. Wait a minute! How is the school board in charge of how our money is spent? I thought that's what the Council was for!
As it turned out, because of this prevailing wage agreement with the unions, the schools will cost us at least a million dollars more. And that decision was made by the school board--not the Council. |

Oh. And this too:
November 13, 2009, 5:00AM MAPLE HEIGHTS, Ohio -- A branch of the federal corruption probe focusing on the Maple Heights school district appears to be widening based on a grand jury subpoena issued late last month to its board of education. The subpoena seeks information on several companies, their employees and their relationship with the school district going back to 1998. It also sought documents relating to three current or former school district employees. The subpoena was delivered nearly one month after former Maple Heights School Board member Sandy Klimkowski pleaded guilty to several corruption-related crimes She admitted steering $458,000 in school construction contracts to DAS Construction through its former Chief Executive Steve Pumper in exchange for free improvement to her home and those of two relatives. She also allowe school money to be used to furnish Florida rental property owned by Louis C. Damiani, who represented the school district at the time. Some of the names mentioned in the subpoena have already been implicated in the wider county probe, including DAS Construction and Pumper, as well as the Vorys Sater law firm and attorney Anthony Calabrese; Nature Stone and owner Russ Masetta; and 1-888-Ohio Comp and Minute Men Human Resources, along with employees Sam Lucarelli and Jay Lucarelli. http://blog.cleveland.com/metro/2009/11/maple... Oh what a web we weave. Lol! |

Something smells rotten in Denmark!! |

We have a lot of different smells in Maple Heights. From one direction, we have the HUD residents and their friends. From the other direction, we have the politicians. Then of course is the asphalt company on McCracken that pollutes our city, and then City View on hot days. Lol,
