The trial was not fair. The judge made orders that the prosecutor could not tell the jury Shonto was found not guilty of the car theft. The jury believed all the made up stories that Olsen was saying along with his friend Main and a dispatcher Tucker who fabricated his story too. Olsen gave the jury the impression that Shonto turned on him two times and made his hand look like a gun, and stold his truck. It was physically impossible to turn around the way Olsen demonstrated it. The hill was too steep. Who would turn around and threaten someone who just shot you in the head. Olsen was drunk and should not have had his gun. It was against police policies. He violated the law and police policies. He should have been fired two years ago. The jury was not allowed to hear that Olsen called his attorney friend that night instead of 911. The verdict needs to be nullified and Olsen needs to be fired. He needs to get on trial again and all the evidence heard. There needs to be someone representing the victim Pete's side and not just sluffing off and treating Pete as if he was on trial again. He was the victim and he did not deserve to be shot in the head and almost killed.

Jay Olsen the off duty officer who was drinking and had his gun with him, violated the policies of his job,and continually violates laws by telling lies on the witness stand,(read the transcripts of the trial) uses his badge to get away with committing crimes, and involves others to lie for him, lies about being gay for 16 years like that matters. Uses coming out of the closet as a way of getting sympathy. Lies about being threatened. Jay Olsen is guilty and so that is why so many people don't understand why he is getting away with so much crime. "abc" Shonto Pete did not have to be defending himself against a person who lied in the first place. The false accusation that he took that truck was all a lie. Shonto Pete never stold the vehicle and Shonto Pete never threatened Jay Olsen on that hill. His conscience and that of Rene Main must really be eating away at them, and when the civil trial gets done he will be exposed as will she. You just can't be committing crimes and lying because the truth is stronger and lies eventually tell on themselves. It's as simple as that, "abc" and in just a matter of time the truth will come out. What is good about it is the Spokane Police force will becaome a better place and its officers will get training that teaches them the differences of when to use lethal force. The violations of policy will be dealt with fairly and consistently and not with favoritsm of one policeman over another. The police will learn the difference and not be gun happy or toting their weapons when drinking or driving while drinking. If they lie the will have to answer to Kirkpatrick and to the Good lord above. She has the intelligence I am sure to see when people working under her are lying. That Tucker needs to be fired as well as Olsen for the lies they told.

And how would you know anything about Pete? Your dizzy in a white man's dillusional world. Spinn some more Kate soon you'll be so dizzy that you will fall and when you hit the ground it will hurt. Your nothing but words that will never amount to anything. Your words mean nothing to your people and mine make a difference. Come to the meetings Kate and you will see the truth to your pain. kate you are one against many and most of the many are your people. That look like you. The white people are smart and you are not. Start making sense and quit making white people look so bad.

Kate u really need some help if you really think Olsen is not guilty. He Obviously used his badge to get out of trouble and he puts other cops to shame who do there job right. The jury was misinformed and didnt get to hear any of the truth. What Olsen did was wrong he sould be punished. There needs to be JUSTICE on this matter. Pete is the victom and he did not diserve to be shot in the head by someone who is hired to protect and serve. I really feel sorry for the people of Spokane, now who are they going to trust. People will just take matters into their own hands and not call the cops.

The facts back Justice. Hopefully Jay will be bankrupted and run out of town by the civil trial. Nobody in this town will give him a job. At least I hope not.

I cannot understand these statements made by "Kate". Who is she and what is she trying to accomplish? Perhaps to cover up the atrocity that transpired as Jay was found "not guilty"? I stood in utter disbelief as the news covered the story of his acquital! Is this our trusted and revered police representative? I feel so sorry for
Pete and his family with all they have already endured.
BTW, I am not racist. I am half white and half American Indian, and must say I'm quite proud of my heritage. Kate, what is your origin?

If youre an American, why do you need to be anyhting else. Why be divisive with always having to point out race and or creed? If youre not racist, then by all means just be an American.

Congratulations! I am also in udder disbelief about Shontos verdict. Why was his history of violence not brought up? Domestic or otherwise?

Why is Pete always let off the hook with you for being drunk in public and doing what he does? Jay was minding his own business in a passenger seat. Pete came to him, Jay didnt go looking for Pete.

Then we have the constant issue facing us. Is Pete just another drunk or as you all to put it he has special favors on him because he calls himself "Indian". Does he live in America and is he legal? Then just be an American. Or is he looking for that magic word always being thrown around, "minority" it gives special discounts when youre in trouble.

Gosh, Kate, I guess I just didn't realize being drunk and asking for a ride justifies being run down and shot be a corrupt lying dirtbag in blue. Now that you have patiently explained it by laying out the "facts" I realize how mistaken we all are relying on the court transcripts, newspapers and other sources. With any luck the civil trail will bankrupt the lying piece of scum and we'll have one less dangerous corrupt piles of crap in our town.

Oh yeah, by the way, no one cares that Pete came up to Olsen, or that Pete was drunk, or what problems Pete had in the past or present.Pete did not drive over to the bar drunk, with a gun, get drunker, chase after someone with a truck, shoot him in the head, duck his fellow officers, lie like a dirty pig on the stand, or impersonate an officer trying to influence the judge. That would be your good friend and bird of a feather, the pride of Spokane, Jay Olsen.

Hopefully the civil trial with bankrupt the pile of crap and you can both leave town to scum up some other place far, far away.

Kate, it doesn't matter of Shonto Pete was native American or white. Would it have mattered if Jay was Indian? I don't believe you're getting the whole point. Jay shot an unarmed man in the head! The man (Pete)did not threaten him in any way. I'll be glad when the civil trial is over and he is on his way out of town. I'd hate to run into someone like him if I needed a ride! And we were always taught to trust cops! Thankfully, not many are like him. Abuse of power to say the least.

I really hate to rain on your parade, but shonto stole the truck and he knows he did it. The point to try and sway anyone at any other piont is mute. Pete will get nothing. NOTHING can you spell N-O-T-H-I-N-G. Good now that you know how to spell that word, maybe you will get it hru your head that Pete will get nothing for being a drunken fool and because he got off one time does not entitle him to anything but a good kick where he sits. Try as you might to keep adding to the story. Pete is a no good drunkin theif. And his life will be as empty tomarrow as it is today.. And when this civil trial is over he will be even emptier because he is counting on some money coming thru and it wont. Keep dreaming on his empty promises of wealth and fame because it wont be on the back of Jay.

Pete was found innocent by a jury. His fingerprints were NO where to be found in the truck. You certainly ought to get a clue by all of that. Instead, you come on here and defend the guilty party. Or are you simply attempting to enflame? Your assertion that Pete was found innocent due to his minority status runs counter to the fact that minorities are much more likely to be found guilty based on the same level of evidence found of white folk. You are the one who keeps refering to Pete and his family as "racist".
Perhaps a better education would assist you in being able to differentiate. Have a nice day and
hopefully you can get you "head together".

He was not found innocent. Your an idiot if you think that was the verdict. he was aquitted because the jury didnt have all the facts. He was aquitted. period. He was not found "not guiltly". He is definately guilty. he stole that truck and drove off with it. He pulled over got out and ran and jay got out of Renees car and ran after him to talk to him. Pete was so sure he would be caught that he tried to make himself look like he was armed. Jay thought he was armed and shot till the threat was gone. He did not empty his gun like People have said. You continue to feed Petes ego. He will be let out like a stuffed pig when he realizes he lost. He wont get one dime unless you are the one to give it to him. Keep liing to yourself it is over for Pete.

You appear to know so much more than the reports have stated. First hand information? "Not guilty" means exactly what it implies. NOT guilty, if you look it up it refers to "not deserving blame or punishment". So, then according to your statement, Jay was not "innocent" but "not guilty"? Hmm, is that double standards or what? Enough of my time has been taken up with this quibbling. Enjoy!
