<quoted text>I practice alternative medicine which is still like VooDoo here in this country and people think you are cracked. I resently was hurt on my job and you cannot believe the audacity of some of these doctors when they realize that you will not take a pharmecutical. You then become worthless to them and they treat you as so. And then being a woman they just say you are depressed and are experiencing anxiety. Oh and you complain a lot if you tell them all the symptoms you have. It is the biggest circle jerk in this country, and I have come to find out that over half of our population is on a pharmecutical, and a third of them are on more than one. My husband and I are like you, I cook every night, things are from scratch, organic most of the time, no processed with with HFCS, no canola (better known in Europe as Rapeseed oil) no soy, and if we have wheat I make the bread myself and if we have pasta, it comes from Italy, no enriched any thing, that is poison and I think that is why people are also having problems with celiac disease. Americans are lazy, it is easier for them to buy something already made with what ever ingredients than to make it themselves with healthy ingredients. Believe me when I tell you, we eat like there is no tomorrow, but I am a size 28 waist and my husband is a 30 waist and we are in our mid 40's. I am appalled by the over weight in this country, it has become the norm, not the abnorm. Sad, very sad. I do not want to pay for the healthcare of these unhealthy people who can't/won't help them selves.
For being a person in the healing community, you sure seem to harbor a lot of anger and hatred. I hope you are able to filter that in your practice of the imperfect who come to you for help. It is a shame that you have the same mindset of the allopathic practitioners when it comes to overweight patients.

I am angry that people want to eat and be sick, they don't want to take the time to take care of themselves. It is not easy more than half of the disease could be cured in this country. It is easier to put a bag of McDonalds on the table than to cook a dinner that probably takes less time than going through the drive-thru these days. There is no reason for a person to be over-weight, none what so ever and yet that is the biggest cry we hear in this country.

As the mother of a son with celiac disease I am very much aware of the additives in foods but it never ceases to amaze me. When he was first diagnosed, it was daunting.

Canned soup..nope it contains wheat. Soy sauce, more wheat. Chili beans? Nope..wheat. Baking Powder? Salsa? Butter? BBQ sauce? careful, etc., etc., etc. I don't think people realize how much gluten they consume everyday when they eat processed foods.

Over the years, more and more manufacturers have begun to produce gluten free products but I have to agree with you that nothing is healthier, and safer, than cooking and baking from scratch.

People rave about my home baked gluten free bread, cakes and cookies and I would put my gluten free lasagne (made with DeBole's rice pasta)up against wheat based lasagne any day.

My son lives in San Francisco now but his illness was a wake-up call for us that led to a new nutritional outlook that we probably wouldn't have embraced without it. A blessing in disguise...I guess.

The blood type O & B have this problem.
Type A & AB do not have this problem.
Try to maintain 7 to 7.25 ph to avoid cancer in any blood type. Have fun!
Wrong......
I'm type A, and so is my mom and we are both celiac.

A1 or A2?
+ or -?
Secretor or none secretor?

I do not really want to know your stats.

It is hard to fathom the quadruple claim of cases. I think it is something else, but is being called celiac. Kinda like when my Grandfather was diagnosed with diabetes & that was found to be false. He didn't have it, but he had union insurance coverage. Hmmm.

Have your blood checked under an electron microscope & record it.

I do not claim to know everything about the blood type & reactions to certain, specific foods. It is still an emerging science in many things besides nutritional health, too.

Peace.

OK, with all these new people being diagnosed, what about their relatives? For an interesting read on who should consider being tested for celiac disease, check out Kate Johnson's Medical Musings blog at: http://s7y.us/1ek0
