I'm disgusted with the local newspaper continuously trying to stir up what needs to be moved on away from. Yes, this has been a newsworthy chain of events, however, our local news media trys to sensationalize and reads like the National Enquirer. Every time there's an article it sheds more bad light on the school system. It is so time to put a positive slant to
the school and it's employees. Anybody agree?

No I don't agree. The newspaper is reporting the facts. When you have a situation like this rumors run rampant. The facts and only the facts are reported in the newspaper. It will let you know what is going on and not the rumors and one ga-zillion stories you hear around town that are not true.
I don't think it is the intention of the paper to keep things stirred up, it is their job to report the news.
Congrats

I agree with you 100%. Sadly the guilty ones are the only ones that could possibly be disgusted by the newspaper reporting or airing their dirty laundry to the general public. Yes, what has been in the papers over the last couple of months has revealed many humiliating secrets, but when individuals make certain choices and get caught that's what happens. I do agree that it is way past time for this town to move on and find something else to focus their attentions towards. Life happens and so many times people "feed" on the negative. Let's remember folks - the school system is supposed to be about the kids and the police station should be about the safety of the citizens of the town. Now that everything has been released as to the events that occured at the school how many are finding themselves eating some of their words? Rumors are very harsh and hopefully those that believed any of the trash that circulated have learned to wait for the facts and not pre-judge!!! Good learning lesson for any that felt the need to join the gossip bandwagon - Wait for the truth before opening ones mouth. Without that local "headlines" the truth would forever be hidden and communities would end up shredding themselves to pieces with RUMORS. Thank you GP for providing a tactful view of the truth. Good job.
Congrats

I honestly don't feel that the latest headline shed any bad light on the school system. I think it made the school shine brightly in a postive light for removing an individual that obviously didn't need to be working there.

Well I see the judgements on what I said. I am guessing these judgements are from people who were ACTUALLY there during everything, but just have a different perspective.

Hey girl, it's nice to finally see that someone was brave enough to use their name and point out the FACTS. What you stated was nothing but the truth, and as you can probably tell when you do that you get crazy judgements.....Hang in there and get ready for the backlash of hateful comments. BTW - You were missed when you were gone at the end of the year.

Well thank you very much. I just couldn't take it anymore. It REALLY bothered me to hear people make comments to the FS paper about how Mr. Halter just bullied the students and the teachers, but they wished to make those comments anonymously. I never felt bullied, but I sure knew that Mr. Halter expected the best from me AND the students.

I miss the kids and my coworkers, but nothing is more important than my family, and they need me right now. My students are all still my babies, and I love all of my fellow coworkers.

Have fun!

Took the words right out of my mouth! Steve treated all of us well! Follow the rules and ya didn't have a problem. Don't think that should have been considered being bullied. It's called made to act their age and have respect. He was a very good boss, I enjoyed working with him every day..... Like you, I miss the kids BAD!!!!! I am thankful for having the chance to get to know so many amazing young men and woman. I miss my co-workers and even the mad parents. HA! Most of all I miss my life, but like stated by you, family is the most important thing.... The people that don't like the headlines these days are the ones that LOVE attention, just not getting caught and having their dirty laundry exposed.

Where did my post go? Number 5 is missing. There was nothing said that was not the truth, unless it is against the rules to actually use names.

You know no one in Booneville or around Booneville has any good to say but it is not Booneville within itself it is all the people. 85% of Booneville draws a check, food stamps,or is on drugs. They have nothing more to do with thier time besides trying to find their next fix, trying to make trouble with whom ever, how ever they can,or talking trash about someone they are only jealous of because they have the man they want or they have more than they have. If they would get out off their ass and make use of themselves they would not have all this usless time on their hands to make all this trouble they do. If everyone could keep their nose in their own business and take care of their own problems and relationships they would be pretty busy. If I had to bet if they would fix their own house they would have as much trash as anyone else. So leave others alone and take care of your own problems or get a job and support your self and leave other womens men alone and all this would not come up to start with.

I am doing fine in DeQueen Ar. Julia is teaching math in the DeQueen system Emily is doing well also. To all of those who have had us in your thoughts Thanks and God Bless You. You good people forgive me for what I am about to write. Those of you that sat in stores downtown and undermined the progress our school was making can kiss my backside. It is a pleasure to read about all the wonderful leadership you now have in your school system.
