I don't entirely understand what your trying to say here. I do want to clear up something else you bring up here. You speak of it as a "mistake". What these 2 did wasn't a mistake or an accident! The card didn't accidently fall into the womans hands or she didn't mistakenly think it was her card. She conspired with her daughter to steal and commit a CRIMINAL act against this little girl. Someone who would do this you can bet has done it before and just not gotten caught. This proves my point of not holding people accountable for there actions.

I responded to a post that was already made on here. What are you the forum police? What does it matter what gets talked about on here? Are you new to Topix or something? The conversations in here range from all kinds of things and who cares, it's all harmless conversation where people voice their opinions (that is the point of Topix). So if you don't like that people sometimes wander off topic then maybe you should learn to read a book instead. Have a nice day!

In regards to Fight Injustice and his supporters. It is this kind of namby tamby liberal thinking that has this country with the highest crime rate in the world!!! Those who believe in this kind of punishment make the common mistake of thinking these scumbags have a conscience in the first place. If they did they wouldn’t be stealing from a child or anyone else! Look at the way she is serving her "sentence" sitting in a chair looking like she could care less! These "people" and I use the term loosely, ARE ANIMALS and in stead of locking them in cages. Where we support them, give them free health care,(that by the way we can’t seem to pay for the law abiding tax paying citizens),gym equipment so they get even stronger and learn more techniques from one another to be a better criminal. We need to bring BACK cutting off a hand for stealing, pillories and public hangings for violent crimes!!!..
agree COM-PLET-LY..well said!

It's about time the punishment fit the crime. Instead of bed and board at the taxpayers expense, this is great. Taught a lesson and cost me nothing. GRRRReat.

I like Ralphy's suggestion. If I would have known they would be out there, I'd lke to have been there. I would have liked to throw some tomatos or something at them.(But then I would probably be arrested for assalt.)
Anyway, I'm glad they had to do this, and I hope people recognize them and that they are ostrasized as they go about their day. They should be ASHAMED of themselves for stealing from a little girl!
(What is REALLY bad, is that the older woman looks like she's wearing a coat that I had donated to the poor. Makes me not want to donate to the poor anymore, because I certainly would not want to make her life any easier!)

I haven't been on Topix for months so you can think what you want. I'm not fooling anyone...I voiced my opinion and that's all. I don't need to hide behind different names I will say what I feel under my name - take it or leave. And what were my other posts....I would love to know.

I observed these women close up during their punishment tour. Unfortunately, they didn't seem that ashamed...more like bored. They probably were thinking they were poorly and inappropriately singled out.

I am sorry if anyone disagrees with this - I believe it taught these women a valuable lesson and the public what could have happened. If you did not want the public to know that you did this - you should have not done it. She can never get her birthday back and will always remember - What is she supposed to think of the world??
