This whole year is not going to be a "good test" for NM softball because they switched conferences and play a bunch of crappy teams anyways.

north marion softball who runs the team the parents or the coaches looks like the parents do , looks like josh barker needs to put his foot down with his assistant and tell the parents go sit down and shut up and take authority away from his assistant. josh seems like a good person dont be brought down by the company you hang with. what a joke its turning out to be.

from what i have seen thus far, the kids are having a great time playing softball. looks to me that barker is the head coach and hes the one running the show. his assistant is doing a fine job and seems to be in check with his job. so if everything is going ok Whats there to bitch about? having 7-5 record with half the season to go, come on people let it go!!!!!

90% of the comments are from Fairmont, GOOD AND BAD. I'm sure that one from Virginia wasn't really from there either. I live in Mannington and it still shows up as Fairmont on mine too?! I don't know what they base the location on, but they aren't accurate as to where you live!

Were you even there??? He didn't do anything out of line. He didn't raise his voice or anything to as you say "SHOW HIMSELF". He merely tried to ask the umpire a question and the ump wasn't responding, then threw him out for that?? I think the one who inappropriately handled themselves this time was the umpire. It is simply rude not to even acknowledge someone when they politely try to ask a mere question.
All these petty comments are just so rediculous, if you have a problem why don't you go directly to him instead of posting on here behind a hidden identity. Sounds to me like you are kind of COWARDLY!!! Grow the heck up already!

Josh has complete control and is running the team. He isn't being brought down by anyone except the parents who don't want to give him a chance to do his job. I think he is doing quite well for his first year coaching the team but people need to get off his back. It is a learning process, he has to get to know the girls and what they are capable of in softball then it will show in time. And I don't see his assistant doing anything other than trying to be helpful and do what an assistant is supposed to do.

Yes, as a matter of fact, I WAS at the game. When the umpire told him ONE TIME that he was out of line he should have kept his mouth shut and moved on, but he chose to keep going. Whether he was raising his voice or not, the umpire told him he wasn't allowed to say anything because he was an assistant so he should have let Coach Barker handle it instead of trying to take control as always. His behavior after he got thrown out spoke for itself, that is when he "SHOWED HIMSELF"! AND, the reason I choose to remain anonymous is because my daughter plays and I don't want her to have any repercussions because I choose to speak my mind.

AND as to your comment to catwoman, if Josh had "COMPLETE CONTROL" then Spanky wouldn't have gotten thrown out the other night because Josh would have had "CONTROL" of the situation himself.

So just what "bad behavior" do you think you saw afterward? I sure didn't see it. He was told he had to go to the parking lot and he did. I'm not sure what your definition of "SHOWING ONESELF" is but when I was growing up my parents defined that as raising your voice, stomping your feet and basically throwing a fit and refusing to do as told numerous times -- NOT asking to have something explained to you, NOT trying to calmly ask a question.
In what setting does anyone ever say it's not okay to ask a question? Asking questions and talking is what grown-ups do instead of just talking behind others backs. Approach the issue up front and head on like an adult should.
And for the record, Josh and Spanky don't punish any players because of their parents, so your theory that there will be repercussions for your child is just absurd. I think you are using that as an excuse to not step up and be a grown up "role model" for your child. What kind of "role model" are you, teaching your child that talking behind peoples backs and passing judgements is proper behavior. This type of behavior is exactly where the bullying problems that have become so overwhelming stems from. Do your child a favor and exhibit some proper behavior in dealing with whatever issue you have. Talk it out, teaching them that will benefit them in so many ways for their future jobs, relationships and whatever they may face.

This is rather ironic, seems one should practice what they preach. You are hiding behind a "fake identity" yourself but are judging me for doing so. I'd say that's a bit hypocritical. I've watched Spanky coach and have heard him talk, he DOES hold grudges against kids because of their parents. I'VE SEEN IT FIRST HAND! I will continue to remain anonymous because I know how he works. For you to say I am not a good role model for my child is bazaar! My daughter is an amazing young lady and for you to say otherwise is ridiculous! I am done discussing this with a "FAKE IDENTITY". I've said my peace and I am just glad the season is almost over. Maybe next year we will be lucky enough to get an adult who knows how to handle themselves in situations and doesn't act like a child themselves. ALSO, kind of ironic that "here here" commented from Clarksburg, WV as well around the same time as you posted. SAME PERSON??? I'D SAY SO!

out of line for wanting to ask a question? not raising his voice, charging the umpire, and putting his finger in his face like the umpire said he did? this umpire lied on his report to the WVSSAC. what an upstanding guy!!!! this is a good example for our kids! lie to cover your ass when you are wrong.

Well I will simply make this statement, then I am done with your nobody self as well. First off, my not identifying myself is a bit different since I am not on here saying that I have a gripe with a specific person but won't go tell them, I'm not on here posting an individuals name slandering them and I'm just giving you a taste of your own medicine. It sure looks like you don't like it too well when the shoe is on the other foot, do you?

Furthermore, I never said anything about your daughter. My comment was simply directed at you. Perhaps your daughter is an amazing person because of someone else's influence, who knows. This isn't about your childs behavior it is about yours. I don't know what little made up movie you are watching in your head, but I have never seen him treat a child wrong because of their parents. I have asked about the reasons for various situations before and my child wasn't punished and I've heard others do the same. It's called communication. So I will wrap this up by saying if you aren't going to man up and go to the person directly then don't bother saying it all. As far as I'm concerned you can continue to remain anonymous all you want. Boo Hoo.

Also, I have no idea who here here is. I think it was covered by someone else in the forum that locations don't indicate anything about the post. I'm done trying to help you.

I can not believe what I am seeing or hearing. Way to go there ~coach~. Actions speak louder then any words put on here and you are living up to your bad rep and still have not changed. Sure hope someone replaces you next year when your job is posted, or the board of education suspends you for good. Talk about embarrassing.

Its a shame to have such a good group of young players and not do any better than what I have seen this season. A new head coach that allows everyone to tell him what to do. An assistant coach that thinks he runs the whole show and is a worthless piece of shit, and parents who do nothing but piss and moan until they get their way. No respect for the game!!

Daily Horoscope for May 21

Scorpio

It's a frustrating and rather disappointing day because you have to cope with delays and setbacks to your plans. A travel arrangement may have to be postponed or there could be a hitch about something connected with education. You're also feeling subdued and tired, and you're longing to spend some time on your own although this may not be possible. Don't worry, this difficult mood will soon blow over.
