Boy that's some justice system we have! Only if you're a cop you can get away with murder.

What happened was a tragedy, and it is sad the way it ended. but when the investigative file in which the grand jury made its decision on is revealed. I do believe that a lot of jaws will drop and eyes will open. I am friends with the sheriff and related to the victim. Trust me when I say there are alot of things that happened that day, the public knows nothing about.

This is all speculation, but this is what I think will come out...

The "scuffle" was an extremely violent and potentially deadly attack. All witnesses confirm this and physically evidence (injuries to the deputy) will confirm this.

Autopsy will show that the shots were fired at very close range, contradicting the friend eyewitness accounts and confirming the independent and deputy accounts.

Drugs in victim and in the vehicle.

Sad and tragic story, but the deputy was justified and the grand jury did the only thing they could do.

How can you be friends with a cop that murdered your relative? My cousin was one of the first EMT'S there to help. Waldron was overherd saying "Oh god, what have i done." He knew he murdered that young man. Not once did Waldron help with CPR or anything. He is a true POS and no doubt won't be going to Kasota for a long time. Wonder how much the cops paid to get him of the hook?

Just about anybody that just took a life would be saying "Oh God, what have I done?" They would also probably be somewhat dazed still from the incident and wouldn't be much help in the CPR anyways.

I find this to be an interesting quote, this quote was just in the Mankato Free Mess the otherday, being used by a man named Scott Manderfield. His wife Jolene was one of the first people supposedly to administer cpr to the victim, and was on all news stations and local papers. Now 4 months after the incident, her husband is interviewed and says that he was administering cpr on the victim as well, and deputy Waldron said to Scott " Oh god, what have i done" Not ONCE in four months has there EVER been a Scott Manderfield brought up in any news cast or papers. NOT ONCE! This goes to show you how many different things change or pop up in this case.Was it added??? Dont you think if him trying to help the victim was the case. his face & name would of been plastered everywhere like everyone elses that was there? i'm kind of off the beaten path, but dont you find this odd. And by the way Steve, thecops didnt do a pay off. A jury of our citizens saw the evidence and let him off the hook.

Moore, i would say you are on the right path with your knowledge of the scuffle and autopsy. i would have to rule out the drugs in the victim and car though.

I guessed drugs in the victim because that would explain the way he acted when confronted. Without drugs, stupid or crazy is the only explanation.

I also find it hard to believe that these guys didn't know Waldron was a deputy. I grew up in the area and from my experience, small town trouble-makers know everyone who patrols their town.

He likely said that because he had just shot a man. It is not an admission of guilt, it is the shock that sets in when a simple traffic stop escalates into a use of force scenario.

I was thinking the same Marko. If that was, indeed, how Deputy Waldron's statement was intended it seems to indicate no intention of actually ending the young man's life.

At any rate I have no problem with our LEOs working to get physically violent people out of our neighborhoods.

Sometimes people who have used drugs have permanent brain damage which makes it difficult for them to accurately assess a situation and they overreact.

They can be a danger to society even when not using. But reports indicate that the deceased was under the influence at the time.

I never fail to be amazed at the level of denial chronic users have. He'd fallen into a fire not so long ago. His first warning that his use may be jeoparding his safety?

If only he'd take the advice he got in treatment seriously his child would have a living, sober daddy.
