It sounds like a good read. I wonder if we extrapolated the premise to other poets, like, say, Dr. Seuss or e. e. cummings, how many autobiographical events we would find captured in the midst of their poetry!

I've long believed that nearly everything people say is, in some sense, autobiographical. There can even be truth in one's lies.
And certainly if one reads any author long enough and their values system, struggles, little quirks become apparent. We really can't hide.(As anyone who haunts an online forum discovers. Heh.) I've heard about the concept of creativity as being healing for traumatic experiences. So, it's nice when it takes this form for the rest of us to enjoy. And if not to enjoy, to gain understanding. |
