Yes, I am a parent. Yes, I do know what my kids are doing. If I owned an ATV, my 13 year old would NOT be driving it on public roads where the speed limit is 55 mph. I would be the key holder not my kids. Is it okay too if the 13 year old grabs the car keys and goes for a ride? Opens a gun safe and grabs a gun? It is called parental supervision!
Several people have said they have seen these kids PRIOR to this driving the ATV recklessly. If you live in that area one has plenty of room on their property to ride an ATV - not on public roads.
Most of the replies on here do wish the girls well.
Did you stop to think how the poor man who was crashed into must feel even though it was not his fault?
You are the one that needs to grow up and take a look at the big picture.
The kids and parents learned a hard lesson. Still wondering where the parents were when all this happened and why the kids had access to the ATV unsupervised.
friend of the family wrote:
I do agree that the 3 of them should not of been riding at the same time nor have they should be in the road. However I am guessing you are a parent? If so do you know everything your child is doing every second of the day? I bet you think you do but you really don't!! Kids are going to be kids regardless of what happens, as children you hear of all the horrible things that happen but you never would think it would happen to you or some one you know. The point I am trying to get across is how dare any of you sit there and speak badly of the poor girls, yes the situation could have been avoided but it wasn't. SIMPLE AS THAT!! This is a time where all the families are asking for is prayers but instead you have nothing to do except sit there and judge and be ignorant. What if it was your child or one of you family members? The tables would be turned then now wouldn't they??? All of you ignorant people are acting like you are in highschool, I am 22 and I have more sense then any of you! GROW UP :)

You are a very ignorant person. I feel sorry for your children, seeing as they have you as a parent!!! Think about it if this was your 10yr old I'm sure you would go through h*ll and back to make sure they are ok and not let one single ignorant person speak poorly of them. So just think about it what if this was your child? Would you still be asking about the atv?
just a price please? Again ding and dent sales are the best. You are so negitive.

Like i said before you THINK you know what your kids are doing at all times, however you don't unless you are tied at the hip to them. Yes I did think about the man. Did you stop to think about what you are saying might affect the families of these girls? No you didn't because you are ignorant. As for me growing up yes I do still have a lot if growing up to do I am only 22 yrs old, however if you are a parent you should not be sitting on a website talking about this situation, you would be upset if it was your child or some one you cared for and be defending them as well. So like I said grow up get off of the computer and go be responsible and take care of your children. As for parental supervision, ever think that the girls parents have to work? Maybe they were both at work that day, you can be 13yrs old to stay home alone or even to babysit!!!! Have a nice day!!!!

As for say it aint so....

I'm sure your children aren't perfect, make mistakes, have accidents, etc. So stop judging people, if you read what other people say it is not the 13yr old driving wrecklessly it is other people. Get your facts straight!!

how dare any of ou slash these girls. im friends with all of the girls that were part of this. none of you know the situation. i was present at the hospital durring this extream event. for 1. the '13' year old girl, is 14. they all had helmates on. 2. there are more atv riders in the area than these girls. being part of some of the activites that go on with them, i see the ones so called "reckless". and they all have loving parents that ensure there safty. these girls need sapport. think to yourself, what if that was my kid? would you want complete stangers slashing you while your child is dieing in the hospital? relatives coming from all over sitting, crying hoping that you live? take a good look at your lives. we all are praying for the 16 year old to be okay and come home to us. and if any of you after this have the audacity to comment with insults after this, then shame on you. you have no self respect.

I cannot figure out why a patent would give a 13 year old child access to an ATV. Or even a 16 year old. Stunning. The twin girls (one of whom was in the atv) are troublemakers. They slashed my neighbors ice skating rink and the neighbors think they are responsible for knocking over some signs in the neighborhood. Obviously nobody deserves to be hurt and I am praying for a full recovery -- but those twins' parents are completely absent.

I have seen those twin girls on the ATVs out there before. They drive like idiots, so I am not surprised this happened. And, i agree they are probably theneighborhood vandals. I will pray for them, and I will also pray that their parents get some common sense.

Thats why accidents are called accidents. Unless you witnessed the accident firsthand, you have no idea what happened or if the girls were reckless at all. I will only agree with you on the fact that a tragedy has happened here. I pray all these girls recover from their injuries. I suggest instead of spreading speculation on their "wrecklessness", you realize these young ladies have families too!
Defintely no Intent, however, something could have been done to prevent this, and that is maybe not driving the ATV near traffic. This was a CRASH...lets learn from it!!!

Ah...I see the truth has come out. I do know where my kids are at all times. It would not be my child as my child would not have access to an ATV when I was not home. The key would be have been with me. All parents know what their kids are like and if they can be trusted. I am only speaking the truth. I do hope the girls recover and I hope they and their parents have learned a lesson. Just rememeber that birds of a feather stick together. If kids hang out with trouble makers they will find trouble. I work and my kids have never behaved so recklessly. I guess you are saying the parents had no clue the kids were on the ATV, huh?

Why should I not be commenting here? I know where my kids are. Does the truth hurt?

You too have a nice day.

According to the Frankfort Patch and the sheriff's office:

"A 13-year-old Frankfort girl suffered a life-threatening injury after the ATV she was driving collided with a truck Thursday at 88th Avenue and Monee-Manhattan Road, the Will County Sheriff's Office reports."

You need to get your facts straight.

Then you are a 16 year old moron and your parents did a poor job. Age is no excuse for stupidity. Hope you don't end up with a brain trauma someday... And I hope even more that it isn't me who runs you over. Idiot.

Go read up on the Illinois Rules of the Road. You continue to prove you do not know what your are talking about. If you are looking for sympathy for your friends, you seem to be looking in the wrong place. Seems the majority have voiced that your friends were in the wrong and this was not an accident but reckless and careless behavior.

Go to Facebook where the teenagers hang out.
