As the father of 4 children, I must wonder about this candidate's family values. He obviously does not have children promoting legalizing marijuana. Is he blind to the fact that children emulate adult behavior? Is he aware that legalizing MJ will increase drug addiction for our youth since it wil be much more available? You think drug driving statistics are bad? Just think about what legalizing MJ will do with more and more people involved in MJ induced and intoxicated crashes...claiming the lives of more children. Medical marijuana is already a joke with my son's friends laughing about getting it for his tennis elbow! In the long run, legalizing MJ will cost taxpayers more money in addiction programs and crime...hurting our most valuable resource: Our children. Manhattan Beach has clearly done well for itself while Mr. Ward has been a Councilmember, but I worry about this local leader moving to Sacramento to push his liberal views on us all. No thank you.

When you look at his program - he is mainly for letting politicians do whatever they want once they are in office! not for me - WE ALREADY HAVE TOO MANY SUCH PEOPLE IN CONGRESS BOTH AT STATE AND FEDERAL LEVEL! It will come as a shock to him and his ilk - but politicians don't know everything and Seldom DO WHATS BEST FOR THE CITIZENS - as out current lack of financial stability proves!

The conclusion is EASY to reach on this one, NO MORE democrats.

Take a look at the overall condition of the CA. Public employee union sponsored democrats have ruined this State and it continues regardless of OUR financial hardships. This guy will say anything to get voted into office, but as soon as he is elected, he will fall into line with the rest of his party. It happens everytime.

The Mayor of LA along with the believers of this mindset find it acceptable to launch a boycott against Arizona, instead of ENFORCING laws that are already on the books (Federal and State). What about the LEGAL citizens of the United States ??????? Where's OUR representation ?????

NO MORE democrats !!!!!!!

Are you kidding me jerkoff? A Democrat in the Mayor's office of MB.......haha..........yeah right like we want another Democrat in office to bankrupt a budget which is basically balanced. Go to the ghetto in Los Angeles or up to San Francisco where Democrats are welcome. Democrats have proven to do nothing else but spend money we don't have and why in the world would you think that you are any different from all of the others? Jerk.

I was going to support Mitch Ward and volunteer for his campaign, until I learned he has twice endorsed Marcy Winogard for Congress. Winogard supports single-payer health care, amnesty for illegals, freezing bank foreclosures on houses and immediately stopping all military spending “cold turkey.”

So she supports nationalized health care, open borders, causing more banks to fail and destroying the aerospace industry which provides thousands of jobs to the South Bay economy. And Mitch Ward supports her for Congress? Sorry Mitch, I can't support you.

This guy is a homo? What are you people there thinking? God is not mocked!

His very nature is against God fearing people. How can you even think this guy could represent your values politically?

Would you leave your 9 year old boy alone with him?

My God!

a 40-year resident of manhattan beach, i'd have to say that during mitch ward's service on council, he has been the most CONSISTENT people-first councilmember in history. he's got my vote. and my husband's (a republican), and my kids'.

a proven leader, this district needs him. so does our state.

I find it hilarious when people criticize the guy's party versus his record. Most of you do not know his record. Yeah, right, no more Democrats...as if the Republicans are not the ones who go us into Iraq and Afghanistan, drove us deep into deep and winked at Wall St. as they scammed American and foreign investors.

Geez, many of you are so forgetful. No wonder the country is in as bad shape as it is.

Janet,Janet,Janet, you're clearly not very bright. It's a shame you are allowed to vote. Your post isn't even close to being accurate. An example, "winked at Wall Street", did you get that from the democrats handbook? It is liberals sweetcheeks that have gotten this country and state screwed up. Way to much government!!!In my opinion it is beyond repair. But we have to try to right the ship, and get rid of this socialist administration in the White House. If not, we are done as a nation.

I voted for Mr. Ward for Mayor. I will not vote for him for State Assembly. Sacramento is overrun with free spending liberals. As a Democrat, I think it's important that we have more checks and balances in place, the one rule party is the problem.

In reading your post one could get the impression that the only reason you support Mayor Ward is the image he gives to Manhattan Beach.
Surely you support him for more than just appearance's sake.
What about his decisions and policies as Mayor have you liked?
What do you like about his stated platform in running for district assemblyman.

He makes me feel good about myself. Just like Barack Obama makes me feel good. I get warm fuzzies having him in office just like I will get when Mayor Ward is Assemblyman Ward. That good enough for you 53rd?
