What a GREAT neighbor to have in this time of need. This unidentified neighbor was alert and observant and due to his keen sense of value of human life, he was able to serve his fellow humans when it really counted. Three cheers to you sir!!!!!

So glad to hear good news. What is with the "care giver" though? Little concerning that he/she did not remember to get the elderly woman!

Good going neighbor!!!!! A little weird about the elderly lady. Had a head injury and AND they didn;t go get her? Did they set the fire in her room? The other occupants sound fishy to me.

Great job at helping your neighbors at their time of most need. I'de tip my hat to you if I had one to tip.

Fires cause some folks to panic or simply run, so maybe this is why she was left in the room.

"A caregiver and the woman's adult disabled son managed to escape the fire, but apparently left behind the woman in a hospital bed." - Hmmmmm....

"Investigators are working today to determine the fire's cause." - I'm just sayin'.

Five bucks sez there's a ciggie and smokin in bed that started this tradgedy, as well as a feisty lady that said "Nobody can tell me how to live my life! I'll puff away til I die!" and almost got her wish.

Good job! Good ending to a bad situ. We were always told when we was kids; smokin'll kill you! In this case, someone saved her from herself.

Above posts that speculate how the fire happened are just "contempt prior to investigation". It's easy to judge by sitting there in the comfort of your home typing on a keyboard. God Bless you Lucy and your family. You all have given so much back to this community and you certainly deserved the kindness of your very un-selfish neighbor. From a lonftime friend, Love .... DJN

I love it!

Caregiver smells smoke and then bails leaving his patient in bed in a buring home.

That caregiver should be arrested. I am sure some kiind if law was broken if not then we need a law.

Cause? Smoking in bed?

Why are there no insensitive ethnic comments being made by her rescuer? Or am I here too soon?

Not sure whats to love. It says nothing about the caregiver smelling smoke and bailing. Not sure what story you are reading but this one says, the caregiver and the elderly womans adult son managed to escape, he is disabled. Maybe she had to make one horrible decision and got the son out. Who knows, just be happy that no one died..seriously what is wrong with some people.

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Aries

Someone wants to go their own way today and they won't care whose feathers they ruffle in the process. It's a lunar eclipse at the Full Moon in Cancer, so let them get on with it. The last thing you should do now is to hang on to their coat-tails or do anything else that will make them feel restricted. Make it plain that you've got your own fish to fry, thank you very much. And try not to let it stop you enjoying yourself. Have a great night!
