A cardiologist can not and should not be a primary care Doctor. Would you want a cardiologist taking care of your hemorroid, sprained ankle or seasonal allergies? Family Medicine Doctors are trained in whole patient( and whole family ) care.

From the article "A good primary care physician - who could be a family practitioner,". I guess that's the end of the term, Primary Care Doctor. Boy they sure now how to convolute the medical profession!

I am a patient of Peggys, and I can tell you this, I MUCH rather be seen by her then seen by a doctor. I ALWAYS go to her first. She really takes the time to listen to her patients, and talk to them, rather then just ask 'what medicine do you need' and get pushed out the door. A physical exam with her lasts 30 minutes sometimes! Nurse practicioners are definetly MUCH better IMO.

I am also a patient of Peggys and the other nurse practitioners that are in the office, as well as the doctor. they are all great and they all listen to what you have to say..that's why he has been my family doctor for almost 20 years and adding the nurse practitioners to his practice was a great move.

Health care in America is a business. Everyone is in it for the money. My PCP just informed my husband and I that it's new administrater has put a time limit on how long the Dr. can spend with each patient. This is horrible. They now make my husbands appointment the last one of the day because he asks so many questions! We are currently looking for a new PCP.

PCP with a specialty, such as
Cardiology have a very difficult
task. They must deal with the entire
body, not just heart related issues.
In addition, the staff of a PCP must
provide referrals to all other
specialists. When I see my PCP,
I want to speak with him, not a nurse. I may my insurance premiums
to see my M.D. not a nurse. If I
could not afford my insurance payments, I would find a walk-in
clinic a see an M.D.

Dr. ARTIE PEPPER of THE UNITED FEDERATION OF TEACHERS demands that teachers challenge physicians ....... but never question an invoice or opinion of a LAWYER................. The UFT was once about teachers and students........ now it exists to siphon union dues to parasitic lawyers.

Glad I left Long Island. The doctors I had there mis diagnosed every condition I had. The care in Florida is so much better. Yes, if you live in affluent areas of Nassau and Huntington you will receive better care. But the rest of Suffolk leaves something to be desire. Just one person's opinion based on experience.

Screw you, you think you know I'm not in pain?
In all honesty i do smoke a joint or two a week, but haven't done the hard stuff in 6 years. Does that mean I should suffer?
