I guess that I'd be more in favor of dui checkpoints if their intentions were really to protect family and loved 1's from being killed by drunk drivers but I think its nothing more than for the money.I'm not sure how many remember the accident back in may...if not all refresh your memory
An off-duty Lancaster County police officer has been charged with drunk driving. Daniel Bell crashed his Jeep and flipped it over in Hellam Township, York County on May 3rd. Bell was a detective for the Columbia borough police department. The Columbia police officer was at a party of police officers from West hempfield, east hempfield, Columbia, Manor township and a few others. he said friends but it was a very large group of officers. It was at an officers house. No one is talking as they are all worried their names will come out and ruin all their careers for letting the officer leave drunk. All Officers on the western end of the county know this, including Dan bell's police chief. They should all lose their jobs for letting him leave drunk. If this is true, then these fellow police officers are as much to blame because 1. they didn't stop Danny, their friend, from driving; and 2. they did not uphold the law as well. Every single one of those officers KNOW better than to let anyone drive intoxicated, but ultimately the full brunt remains on Danny's shoulders. Do you really think he was worried about your loved 1's? And do you really think he was the only 1 that left that party intoxicated? Do you really think they had a checkpoint planned for that night? Cracks me up that they tell you not to drive while intoxicated but yet the police do it themselves....hummm whats wrong with that picture. |

Police Officers are human too. They make mistakes and are not perfect.
In regards to the marijuana, either it was in plain view or the officers had probable cause to search as in they smelled the odor of it. All the people that were arrested for other offenses were pulled out and tested most likely. When they are tested, their licenses are ran to determine if they are valid or wanted. |

oh how nice!!! lets avoid the checkpoints on my drunken ventures so I can either kill myself or someone elses loved ones!!! F'in dope!!! Have you completely mutilated your brain??? |
I've watched regionals pull someone over in front of my house... people who are clearly drunk and are also driving on a susp lic and all they did was make the passenger drive.... BS |

I do not condone drinking & driving. I also do not condone how these check-points are handled. Stopping every car is illegal. Officers are legally allowed to stop either if they suspect something, or every few vehicles. Every check-point I've encounted, they check each and every vehicle. Where's the justice to those they 'serve', when the officers continually break the laws themself?

Driving isn't a right, it's a privilege. Your post is hilarious! |

I was in the car of the driver who supposedly 'smoked marijuana right before being stopped'. Such bullshit. Pigs only police shit like weed because of the tons of money they get from the war on drugs. If you think marijuana is a drug, you probably also think that the universe was created in under a week by an invisible scarecrow who watches your every move and monitors your every thought, so you wish to know we can recreate such a fantasy in our own tangible realm. If you want to be controlled but safe, hire a dominatrix and keep an EMT on standby. Weed is to narcotics what herpes is to social diseases; it's not dangerous, and it's way too easy to get.

The checkpoint was right next to a rutters with an MTO station. I know, I sat there for hours after my friend was arrested to maintain your illusion of safety. |
why were they talking about cops in loganville and the drivers were caught in west manchester?
SOOOO?????? |
Why did you have to sit there for hours? And why was your friend arrested? |
A bullshit reason. See my posts above for it, captain observation. |
So MORON, What was the bullshit reason??? Why would you sit for hours in a Rutters parking lot??? Trolling for little boys? |

Its not illegal to stop every car. There has to be a pattern that needs to be followed. If you decide to stop every car than so be it.

“The landmark U.S. Supreme Court case Michigan Department of State Police vs. Sitz established many of the guidelines that govern the operation of sobriety checkpoints. The Supreme Court's ruling is meant to balance the rights of individuals against society's need to prevent drunk driving. The Court ruled that police conducting sobriety checkpoints must use a neutral mathematical formula, such as every third vehicle, to select which drivers and vehicles to stop. This is designed to reduce the possibility of stopping drivers based solely on appearance.” Now you know it is illegal to stop EVERY vehicle!! |
