I am looking for any and all cemetery names on Hector, Danny Finley was kind enough to send me a copy of my Grandpa's Death Certificate. However, it doesn't list the cemetery; it only lists that he was buried up on Hector. I called Rominger Funeral Home in Manchester, & the lady at the funeral home was unable to help me. She said that records weren't very accurate back in 1948, & that I might check for the whereabouts of some of my family members' resting places. Thanks to Danny, I now know who my Great-Grandpa & Great-Grandma's names are. i appreciate any help on these cemetery names. Thank You in advance.

My Grandpa was Joe Hoskins, he was a coal miner. His wife's name was Maudie or Maud, some of their kids were Hiram, Mary, Bernice, Thelma, & my Mom Nancy. My Mom was with him when he had the car accident in 1948. Joe's parents were Hiram Hoskins and Nancy Morgan; that's how their names were listed on his Death Certificate.

I done my husbands Hoskins family tree and I went to the Clay Co. court house that's were they had the marriage license then. Now they have them at the Administration building down town. I went and wrote down every Hoskins marriage that I could find. Now I could have made a mistake because they were a lot or the person that recorded the marriages could have made a mistake. But that is what I have down for a Joe Hoskins. If I remember correctly from the 1800's until the 1930's (maybe) don't have much info on the license but to make sure I can go back and recheck because I need it to be right for my records to. I do not know or have I heard of your Joe other than what I have on his marriage. The (s) on here mean's single. What was your grandmother Nancy or Lucinda's maiden name? Maybe I can find some children born to her (I have the Ky. birth records on my computer they are from 1911 to 1999) that you know and that may clear up what her first name was. Oh yea could Abe have been married more than once?

Go to this web site. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry....
Scroll down until you find Hoskins then look for the name of the person that you are looking for. Click on it and it will take you to that person. The name will be close to if not right at the top of the page. This is my husbands family tree. I didn't do this tree some man did. But he has almost every thing that I have and a whole more than I have because I did not go back as far as he did and he didn't go forward as far as I did. I will go one day this week IF YOU DON'T already have the marriage license and see if I can find a marriage for your grandmothers parents in Leslie Co. and if I don't find one there I'll look in Clay Co. and see if her name was Lucinda or Nancy. Could her name have been Nancy Lucinda and she was always called by her middle name?? I don't use my first name unless they make me :-)

These are Maude's parent's I believe and it say's that her mother's name was Nancy. The M after Nancy's name could stand for her middle initial or could stand for Morgan.

From the 1920 Clay Co Ky. census,

Couch, Abe head age 42 he and his parent's were born in KY.
Nancy M. age 40 her and her parent's were born in KY.
Mudie (misspelled) age 20 single
Mollie age 19 single
Emma (maybe) age 16 single
Annolle (I can't make the name out) daughter age 13

I found a Hiram Hoskins in the 1920 census staying with a Steven & Milda Morgan it goes like this.

Morgan, Steven age 77
Milda age 78
Hoskins, Hiram age 57 SON-IN-LAW
Henry age 18 grandson
JOE age 12 grandson
Steve age 23 grandson married
Ida age 21 granddaughter married
Analee age 1 looks like great granddaughter

From a 1910 census,

Hoskins, Hiram age 51 married 1 (once) for 25 years looks like
Nancy age 47? married 1 (once) mother of how many children 11 how many are living 7
Willie age 18 son
Spencer? age 15 son
Steve age 13 son
Henry age 9 son
JOSEPH age 4 son this may be your JOE.

I hope this makes you a good starting place to do more on your family tree. The one thing that I have found out about doing a family tree is the more answers you get the more you need. I will help you as much as I can.
