Can you drink alcohol and still be a Christian

In my opinion you can drink alcoholic beverages every now and then as long as it is done in moderation. I haven't seen anything in the Bible that indicates otherwise.

Ok now... The above is not me. The Bible speaks also of bewaring of the Drown Drunkered. But, in 1st Timothy it does say, A little wine for the stomach's sake, for infirmities.

Thera are MANY things you or any other Christian may do but wouldn't do if "Jesus was standing there". Think so? Your comment makes me think you believe you are perfect. If you think you are without sin, you are very confused. Over drinking is as much a sin as over eating. We ALL commit sins, just don't think your sin is any less than another's. Thank God for his figiveness.

to Christian in London, ky...do you smoke cigarettes, take any kind of prescription medication, overeat, judge people, drink pop or coffee? There is no difference in these things and drinking in moderation. And for your information Jesus is always with us so when we do these things we are doing them in his sight. As a Christian why would you ask such a stupid question. No person is without sin, if we could be perfect then Jesus would not had to die for us.

Ecclesiastes 9:7 “Go, eat your bread in joy, and drink your wine with a merry heart, for God has already approved what you do.”

Isaiah 22:13 “And behold, joy and gladness, killing oxen and slaughtering sheep, eating flesh and drinking wine.‘Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.’”

Matt. 26:29 “I tell you I will not drink again of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.”

Same as the lottery, it isn't a sin to play it. But if your spending all your money on the lottery and not helping your family, thats different.

I don't know, I think 'ole Wayne could be pretty tough. I've heard he keeps his congregation on the straight and narrow.

i think people have a weakness and that is the thing that is a sin. Like drinking to much or smoking so much that it takes money away from you family. you can smoke (cigaretts) you can drink a little it doesn't matter as long as it is not something that takes over you life. For example some people think that you can't gamble at all to be christian. My grandma plays one lottery ticket a week that is not taking over her life. But if she was buying fifty dollars worth of tickets a week that would be sin.

So are you saying that if you are saved you will also not want to drink caffeine, smoke cigarettes, eat food that has any kind of chemicals in it (which pretty well eliminates everything) or take any kind of pain meds whether it be prescription or over the counter?

Yea, I heard about that and if I remember right donnie's wife and the girlfriend fought in the the church parking lot and Donnie had to split them up. I bet alot of those new folks in that church wouldnt believe none of that now. They still wear the long skirts, but the hair is getting a little shorter.

well because you go to church dont mean youre a christian look at the white family they all go now they can attend prison services.
