Just say Yes! It will keep a lot of Clay County money in Clay County instead of going to Hazard and Richmond. It won't have a thing to do with who drinks what. They'll do it no matter how the vote goes. And it will be a step forward from the extreme backwardness that plagues Clay County. It's a step toward progress and has nothing whatever to do with morals.

I'm glad they're only doing the vote within city limits, myself. Less religion playing a part in the votes.

all you smart people so hot for alcohol sales in clay well you think drug problem bad just wait mix the alcohol with it and watch. I lived for years were alcohol was sold and it brought in the slime of the world, you had street people lying on sidewalks at all hrs of the day, prostitues, beggers, bums and god only knows whatelse. They think the little kids going hungry now when there lazy parents sale pop to get cigs wait untill they get hooked on the booze. Its a shame that a place thinks alcohol sales is th answer to this problem of no jobs well its not, if we had any leaders with any inspiration about them they be going to some of these companies wanting to relocate from states that have raised there taxes so high they can not survive and they make deals get them to come around here, and not try to rip them off by wanting money under the table like past officals. Go to some of our good citizens that have land put them on the spot by calling there names when they refuse to help with letting land be used and not act like they gold on it.All you that think alcohol is the answer well when a drunk on drugs kills one of your family member remeber to think all those that got alcohol here legally.

You know what was so funny?? Some of the very same people that opposes alcohol sales in Clay County were spotted drinking it up in London as soon as that town went moist. More than a couple of public officials and probably a preacher or two seen by others. Yep, in Kentucky we sure love our hypocrites, no matter what!!!

What do you mean "wait until you throw alcohol in the mix?" It's already been in the mix honey! People do it regardless if its legal or not! Its not that hard for someone to head over to Perry county or Richmond and get alcohol and haul it back. Might as well go ahead and make Clay county wet. I think it would be a good thing for this county.

You are exactly right. The people that drink in this county are going to drink anyway and they are spending that money in other counties. So why not have them spend their money here ? We will get tax dollars from the legal sales and the drinkers will save money by not having to spend their money on gas to travel to other counties. Let the preachers preach on another subject besisdes alcohol sales and let us join the civilized communities, like London, Hazard, Richmond, Mt. Sterling, Harlan, Cumberland, Burnside, Corbin and Whitesburg to name a few. At least that will cut down on the illegal sales and our children would have to be 21 before they could purchase it in Manchester. I say and almost everyone in the city I know says Let's Vote Wet !!!!!!!!!

all you people wnting alcohol sales have never lived were its legally to buy. All you see is it be easy for you to get your booze to hell with the consequences. Sure they some that drink here in clay now but when its easily obtained as it will be if they vote it in you will see lot of those on the draw buying it and to hell with there families just like with drugs. I don't understand all you so called good people when it comes to what you all think is advancement to this place you say to hell with if its good or not if it bring in money go for it, wonder if thats how you all feel about religion, if it says what you want you all for it but if it happens to be truthful you all condem it. I know how it works i live where booze was sold in stores, gas stations and even in drug stores i here to tell you the underage will get it despite all you can do, now bootleggers will only sale to those they know or trust but when the market is wide open under age kids will get people of age to buy it for them and when you mix that with the drug problem here well we going to see a lot more deaths of innoncent people from drunks and druggies on bozze. You all can defend it as progress well the devil has a way of closing good peoples eyes when it comes to greed so go ahead talk big how it going to save clay county but when its all said and done and you are at the funeral of a family member or close friend you can say well they died so we could progress.

Vote wet! I will because to me it's all about freedom. If you don't believe in alcohol use then by all means don't drink. It's legal in most of the country and you can't tell me that clay co is better off than the rest of the country. Quite the opposite. One of the poorest in the nation. Think there might be a connection? Well duh! Vote wet whether you drink or not.

Jesus drank wine! Do you consider him to be a drunk or druggie too? You wanna talk about prostitutes and people lying on the streets. I don't know where you've had your head stuck but if your eyes are as wide open as you act you would see we already have those too. I DON'T DRINK! But I am all for voting it legal and when given the chance I WILL VOTE YES! The people that are already drinkers are the ONES WHO are still going to be the drinkers. I would like nothing better than to put the bootleggers out of business. I dont know if you realize it or not but most if these bootleggers are also your pill dealers. If they loose their beer money. It will cut down the pill sales. They will no longer have that extra money to buy and resale pills with. How many people have you heard of od-ing on beer? And all our LEGAL drinkers who also buy from the bootleggers because of gas are going to buy here instead of London, hazard, richmond etc. All that tax money will benefit US and help us grow and become better instead if building up other places. It's simple minded people like you who don't think everything through that is hindering our county from growing and develoing.

I agree and I don't even drink. The great amount of money that has been spent in Hazard and Richmond could definitly help this community. For example, more jobs, higher pay, better roads. The only people that do not want this community to improve are the ones that are like the "Clay 8". In other words legalizing liquor will take money out of THEIR pockets.

Blueberry Muffin is exactly right. It will correct a lot of things as well such as distribution to minors. You actually think the bootleggers will get profit and stay in business if Clay county becomes wet? I think not. They already have to sell their booze for twice as much as it is in the stores. It will do this county good!! I'm tired of living in a poverty ridden community!!! Vote CC WET!

this is just for wet you said jesus drank wine well if you would use that brain god gave you you would know it was not booze christ drank but grape juice. I feel sorry for of you that will justify drinking at any cost even your morals. The bible tells you take a little wine it good for your stomach but you that want to see alcohol sales want to make people its just for the good of the county well when that day comes and you face our father you and you alone will answer when he ask what did you do to help my sheep. You can get mad cry tears or do whatever you want but like i said i lived for a long time where alcohol was solded and they was no drugs around then but just wait when some drugged up drunk kills some member of your family or friends then you can say boy progress for clay county sure is wonderful. They will always be people that drink but if you claim to be a christain and you get out here push for alcohol sales it tells just what you are a one day christian who pretends and thats gods words not mine he will judge you but don't expect me as someone who is trying to do the best i can to except something that if you would just put aside your eagerness to be like all your so called friends and support alcohol sales because they say oh it will improve this county well go right ahead and do what you want. Everyone knows whos pushing the booze sales its our new mayor that tells me what he is so get mad i just don't care and while i am at it its a shame a so called christain in a church would be the one to start the petition that tells anyone trying to do right just what he thinks of his faith, its for sale for a can or bottle of alcohol. People this place got enough problems why add more to it but go ahead get it wet then set back and what how in most cases it be innoncent people suffer the consequences of it. But don't get on here and justify your action by saying jesus drank wine thats like saying abortions are ok the baby not borned so its not alive when the doctor sucks out its brains, you people will use anything to justify your actions and thats a shame what an example you set for your families and you wonder whay the younger kids of today act way they do look in that mirror at what they see and maybe you will understand.

Daily Horoscope for June 3

Sagittarius

You're in the mood to spend today, especially on the spur of the moment. Be careful if you can't afford to make any impulse purchases, because a lack of cash won't stop you! If you do decide to splash out on something, you may be disappointed when you get it home and you might even decide to take it back.
