Never been to one of these shops, but it sounds ideal for those with big taste, but little budget. "High End" fashion is still a rip off, but we still buy into it anyways. Just bought the wife a Louis Vuitton handbag for 780.00. THATS a rip off, but I still bought it anyways. As for companies like 7, and theory, that sell retail for over 100 dollars, did you know that they use the same materials as Levis? And Louiss V uses the same leather as coach, but charge 3 times the amount...

The lady lawyer from Farmington should have learned about consignment stores. She could have left with money in her pocket and would not have maxed her credit cards at the malls I had a small consignment store out here in the country but it closed. It sold clothes, baby furniture, linens and things, children's toys. and household items. I got good deals on many items.

The non-profits like Goodwill and Salvation Army are also having dramatic sales increases. The only problem" people are donating less merchandise because they are holding on to it themselves.

Also, items that may have been donated to Salvation Army and Goodwill are now going to the Consigment Shop to generate a little cash. I say a little cash because most only give you 30% of what they sell it for. Need to be cautious though, check the outlet mall prices on designer bags. Seen used ones at these shops for the same price you can buy a similar new one at the Outlet Store.

Hate to break it to you but Coach is not 3 times less than the bag you bought for 780. Coach bags are over $400 and that's not a very big bag and most of the time it's not 100% all leather - just some leather and mostly cloth with the big C's all over it. SO, I think that some of you are missing the point. I love to shop and I love love love nice things. The problem is that I had too many nice things. Yes, I love Coach and my latst cost 650 dollars. I just purchased 3 pairs of burberry shoes at 397 dollars each. My husband rolls his eyes and says nothing because, I am really not costing him much - before commenting or juding just hear me out. So, I went thropugh my closets and found about 60 items that were not worn or barely worn that I purchased over the past several years. I found handbags and shoes in boxes. Shoes and outfits purchased for a wedding, a shower, etc. I packed up everything and brpught them to a consignment shop. In less than a month I made almost $900! I now recycle every season. I buy ne only the amount i can get from recycling. In stead of 4 handbags I get one, and instead of 5 pairs of shoes I get three. But I am not incurring credit card debt or extra bills. As the old adage goes, somesones junk, is some ones elses treasure.

I sold a five year old emerald green Coach satchel and two Dooney & Bourke Nile Collection bags on ebay this year. I got more than I paid in all instances. Some of them become more desirable because they are no longer available. I have seen Brighton bags go for double their retail price on ebay if they have been discontinued for a while and are not available in stores. I bought the Coach brand new in an outlet at Niagra Falls five years ago and used it. I paid $195 for it. I got $320, they were all in perfect condition.

I am new to Ebay, but I listed a burberry bag from 4 years ago and it is my first listing. I already have bids for more than I paid. If anyone thinks that items sitting in the back of your closet is a good idea, they should think again.

Really makes a difference!
