I can hear the politicians asking the questions. Damn, you got large bonuses from AIG! How can we can some for ourselves..remember you are under oath.

Im a liberal and this has really turned into an ugly witch hunt. Before we go burning these guys at the stake, perhaps we should be sure they are guilty of that treatment.

If I was one of the remaining AIG people, I would give the bonus back, resign, and leave the pols to figure out how to fix it.

And FWIW, you couldn't PAY me enough money to work in this environment. I think anyone who stays there is incredibly brave.

If the politicians are so worried about the government's money, then they should consider the government money that AIG is using for legal council for all those getting subpoened accross the country. This witchhunt makes for great theater for those looking to score a class warfare victory, but just throws away more of the taxpayer's cash. And then there will be all the money wasted defending the lawsuits for the unconstitutional tax law moving through Congress which will try to do an end run around the contracts.

Will Obama honor the Constitution or trample it just like the left always accused Bush of doing. We will know soon.

To all those executives who've gotten huge bonuses from companies they've run into the ground: we'll let you keep you bonus if you can tell all us taxpayers exactly what you did to deserve any part of that outrageous amount and we believe you!!!!!

The majority party is tripping all over itself these days. First Blumenthal says he cannot release the names of the recipients due to some Connecticut law, then he's subpoenas them. The circus continues.....

As much as should disgust everyone, it is absolutely ILLEGAL for the Federal Government to get involved in rule making in any corporation, and NO, the Government should keep their damn busy body noses out of this.

These are contracts between employer and employee.

Once we get involved in breaking that up, we become a Socialist state, and as Anti-Constitutional as we can be.

This corrupt lying Government of ours gave away 62 billion to foriegn banks and 55 billion to banks in our borders, none of which should have been handed over, all of it fram the privately held fedeeral reserve, and all of which "WE" american taxpayers will end up paying for.

These criminal politicians and the meaningless mindless liberals spouting out their lips about AIG are doing nothing other then turning our attention away from the big money graft and laundering, and most of you ridiculous people are falling for it.

Wow! Why am I not surprised Blumenthal is calling a hearing next Thursday to look into bonuses that AIG paid out per contracts that were executed in 2007 & 2008.I am not crazy that the bonuses were paid at this time but if you were employed by AIG don't tell me you wouldn't have taken the earned bonus. What were seeing here is an AG who never misses a chance to get his picture in the paper and two hack legislators that should be in Hartford looking to eliminate wasteful programs and balance the budget without raising our taxes. These clowns should be happy the state is collecting taxes on those million dollar bonuses. Oh by the way if the bonuses were a few hundred dollars they wouldn't be having any hearings would they.

First of all, who are politicians to criticize anyone? Is there a more ethically challenged bunch? Second of all, why are we stopping at insurers and bankers, why don't we examine what everyone on welfare or food stamps is doing with their money? This doesn't seem much different than someone buying lobster with food stamps. Remember to keep these dollar amounts in perspective. Every farmer that receives a subsidy should also be looked at.

Maybe one day the government will decide that YOU make too much money, tax you 90%, and drag you out to the lynch mob.
