There was just a piece on these cameras on TV.The cost of the cameras, installations and a percentage given back to the installers of the cameras ( from every ticket issued)added up to a loss to the cities where they were installed.I suggest a lot of investigation is done before committing to the installation of these cameras.

As I'd posted previously: I've heard that out west (midwest?) the cameras are fantastic, stationary targets for paintballers (and higher calibers)- which didn't start happening until The Citizenry realized how many tickets were bogus, and how the law adopted a "guilty until proven innocent"-attitude towards Citizens.

Same thing with 'speed cameras'.

In the TV special on the cameras everyone who fought the ticket in court won..Why.. the camera only takes a picture of the license plate not the driver. The owner of the cars appear in court and claim they were not driving and they won.

That would make sense, but I'm sure the person the car is registered to will end up getting the ticket, even if a family member or friend was the driver. I've seen a few of those cameras around in north Bridgeport and Trumbull recently.

The tickets were issued to the owner of the cards and the Judge threw every ticket out with the argument I mentioned. Why should they installer of the cameras get a kick back from the tickets? I wish I had copied that program about the cameras It was just on the other day.

They have these cameras in California and I was amazed at how many drivers actually slow down and STOP as soon as that yellow light comes on! So it does work in spite of what they say happens in traffic court.

The video cameras on I-95, which have been there for over a decade, can zoom right in and see the occupant. In the rest areas, when a car is stopped, you can position and zoom into a car and actually make out what newspaper some one is reading.

The cameras they were talking about do not operate that way unless they are going with a different company I have been inside the State PD and have observed the monitored cameras. they do work well!

Daily Horoscope for June 3

Sagittarius

You're in the mood to spend today, especially on the spur of the moment. Be careful if you can't afford to make any impulse purchases, because a lack of cash won't stop you! If you do decide to splash out on something, you may be disappointed when you get it home and you might even decide to take it back.
