On Saturday May 19th, a man was killed on his motorcycle on FM2001 where the new construction for FM2001 is beginning. A dumptruck crossed into his right of way killing him instantly. Witnesses say that the motorcycle rider sped up to avoid the accident. As the slogan goes, "Motorcycles are everywhere".

Why would anyone even ride a motorcycle???? I just can't trust anyone else's driving enough. You virtually put your life in the hands of every other motorist you share the road with on a bike and people do to much multi-tasking crap these days behind the wheel. It's simply NOT SAFE.

Another accident occurred on Tuesday. A twenty one year old kid got killed on a motorcycle. I have two requests of my loved ones, no military, no motorcyles.

Why spend good money on a very expensive (motor cycle) toy just to feel macho (if a dead macho)and cause so much agony to family left behind to deal with horrible graphic memories. I agree to requests to family, no motorcycles and no military.

We were coming back today,May the 13th 09, and saw a dumptruck kill a guy on his motorcycle. He was already covered up. These trucks have no mercy for no one. Hope they charge this guy.

I work nearby and was at the shell station just after it happened. I was told by an off duty paramedic that had witnessed the accident what happened. They were at the light in front of Cabela's. They were lined up at the light, one car the motorcycle behind the car and then the dump truck behind the motorcycle. When the light turned green the car and the dump truck took off but the motorcycle never moved. The dump truck driver had pulled too close to the motorcycle the he could no longer see it and had forgot that it was there so when the light turned green the dump truck just went straight over him. There was no wreckless driving, nobody speeding, and no trying to avoid anything. It was just a horrible accident!

The amount of 18 wheelers mixing with pedestrian traffic these days is getting out of hand. In fact in Buda right now the EDC is trying to allow a zoning change to let more trucks through that very same intersection. Crazy!
Check out savebuda.org , there could easily be more than 400 truck trips through there and an additional 400 through the main st intersection a day if this is allowed!
