Calif. man arrested in Oklahoma on sex charge
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP)— A 61-year-old California man has been arrested in Oklahoma on charges of coming to the state to have sex with an 8-year-old girl.
An FBI affidavit says Steven Lee Wintersteen of Mammoth Lakes, Calif., was arrested Sunday after flying into Oklahoma City. He's due in court Thursday on a charge of interstate travel with intent to engage in illegal sexual conduct with a minor.
It wasn't clear whether he yet has an attorney.
The affidavit says Wintersteen tried to arrange to have sex with the daughter of a woman with whom he was chatting online. The woman is an FBI operative.
