i have a solution... why dont those of you that are afraid of someone smoking OUTSIDE at the fairgrounds buy a biohazard chemical suit with a gas mask that eliminates all odors? this way you can feel your health is not at risk in case someone lights up a cigarette outdoors? LOL

and if any of you complainers DRIVE your car to the fair, your cars are spewing out 1000s of btu s of REALLY toxic fumes and you are simply hypocrites.

In the first place little kids and people with breathing problems should not be at the fair.Right?
Theres smoke from food cooking fumes from generators running the rides, thats much worst than a cigarette.
The way I see it if you cant stand the smell of cigs. You had better stay home take in a good movie and let the folks that enjoy the fair go and have a good time...
It only happens once a year so stay at home you wont miss much anyhow.
Now find something else to bi%%h about.

Smokers don't care if they bring someone else down with them. They are basically full blown drug addicts that can't live without their nicotine. Do you think any of them really care if their smoke bothers you? All that they care about is their crutch.

people bitch about the damndest things. i'm a former smoker and do not like the smell of cig smoke. but this is OUTSIDE, folks!
i don't like the smell of cow poop or the BO of half the people in malone either. but i don't bitch about it. i just walk away.
You sure seem to find enough things to bitch about here on TOPIX but here you don't have to deal with anyone face to face, right?

The truth is if everybody in the state of New York quit smoking today, the state would go broke. The amount of taxes gained from smoking and drinking support a good many things the state doles out. The argument that the medical cost outweigh the taxes brought in is pure BS.
Imagine if everyone quit. Then what? How many people would be out of a job? How many farmers in the south would close down. Love it or hate it, smoking provides jobs and an economy and taxes.
Frankly, these non smokers are going too far. Not smoking at the fair is stupid. I suppose the diesel fumes coming from the generator trucks are better? how about those fumes from the demo or the tractor pulls? That stuff is 10 times as bad for you.
I especially like the comment about being fat and veins full of cholesteral. So true! How many of you whiners are overweight? You're in worse shape than the smokers. It's the number one killer in the nation and it's an epidemic now of fat people who couldn't care less about themselves or how they look. We'll quit smoking when all the lard asses lose weight and stay on diets.

Stan you should move from Winthrop, all that is smoked there is dope. just about everyone there is a druggie. If you cleaned all the smoking pipes there you would have enough resin to use for tar to pave your roads.com ment on that and your great town.

Smokers smell bad and their breath smells like they have been chewing on a turd. They are so hooked they can't even walk around the fair for a couple of hours without lighting up. A lot of them with babies smoke right in the house and everything and then the babies get ear infections and other problems...that is a proven fact. Then they get offended if someone tells them they shouldn't smoke around children even though they know they are screwing the kids up. How selfish.

um-xdrunk, hate to tell you this, but you live in Virginia. You have for 30 years. what happens in NY really doesn't effect you. Maybe you want to post in the Woodbridge forum? That is where you live. Maybe you didn't become "x" drunk soon enough?

I ask a question. A very fair question. A lot of people go to Malone at Fair week from all over the USA. All I did was a ask a question about keeping kids and food safe. Do you have a problem with that Malonian ?? COME ON NOW DO YOU ??

no xdrunk, NYS has no law prohibiting smoking OUTSIDE on a county fairground.... i will mention one last time, a person smoking even 5 ft away OUTSIDE has no ill effect on anothers health.. however, an automobile driving by does.
